14 from Women's Track & Field Named to UAA 30th Anniversary Team

The Emory University Women's Track & Field program saw 14 student-athletes named to the University Athletic Association 30th Anniversary team which was released Thursday morning by the conference office.

The 30th Anniversary team consists of each student-athlete who was named the Most Outstanding Performer at the UAA Indoor Track and Field Championship or UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, or won an individual event at the NCAA Division III Indoor or Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Danielle LeSure and Sarah Byrd were two Eagles which earned automatic spots on the Anniversary team by virtue of winning NCAA Division III outdoor national championships during their careers. LeSure is the only two-time national champion, male or female, in Emory Track & Field history, capturing back-to-back individual titles in the hammer throw in 2001 and 2002. Byrd added an individual national title at the 2002 outdoor national meet, earning top honors in the 3000m Steeplechase. Byrd was also a two-time Most Outstanding Performer in her career, winning the indoor honor in 2001 and the outdoor award in 2002. She was inducted into the Emory Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.

Emory also saw a trio of back-to-back Most Outstanding Performers named to the Anniversary team in Kahlilah Jennings (1996-97) and Theresa Ford (2012-13) for indoors and Debora Adjibaba (2012-13) for outdoors.

Other Eagle honorees include Alexandra Aiello, Electra Korn, Katie Anding, Jordan Beall, Andrea Midyett, Angela Davie, Brittany Donino, Alix Dyer, and Jane Ukandu.

A total of 67 student-athletes from all eight member schools were honored on the anniversary team with Emory's total ranking second.
