Track & Field Teams Earn USTFCCCA Academic Awards

The Emory University men's and women's track & field teams were recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently, earning the All-Academic Team award.

To earn the All-Academic Team award, the cumulative GPA of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter. The Emory men posted a combined GPA of 3.67 while the women checked in at 3.64.

In addition, 18 members of the program were honored by the USTFCCCA by being named to the All-Academic Athlete list. For the All-Academic Athlete award, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and finish the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS.

Earning recognition for the women were Jessica Barbarosh, Kaya Binetti, Alex Devaux, Claire Evans, Sarah Fineman, Dashiel Tao Harris, Hannah Lansberry, Ella Lavelle, Bella Racette, Libby Ranocha and Annika Urban. For the men, Marcus Cheema, Dawit Dean, Liam Fost, Spencer Moore, Thomas Perretta, Sam Ryba and Spencer Watry earned academic recognition.

Lansberry, Urban, Fost and Moore were recently honored by being named CoSIDA Academic All-District selections with Moore named to the Academic All-America Third Team. At the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships this past May, Urban paced the Eagles by earning All-America honors in the 1500m Run.
