Emory Volleyball Keeps Rolling At UAA Championships

The No. 3-ranked Emory volleyball closed out a successful opening day at the UAA Championships by defeating host Case Western Reserve University.  The Eagles, who entered the Championships as the No. 1 seed, topped the Spartans, 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-11), and raised their overall record to 29-4.  Emory started off the championships earlier on Friday with a 3-0 verdict over Rochester.

Junior Jessica McAlvany led a trio of Emory players who finished in double figures in kills, racking up 15 terminations.  Senior Amelia McCall and sophomore Breanah Bourque each registered 10 kills with McCall chipping in 14 digs in the winning effort.   Freshman Molly Landers topped the squad with 18 digs and junior setter Natalie Schonefeld doled out 41 assists.

Emory returns to action at the UAA Championships on Saturday with a noon match against No. 23-ranked Chicago.
