Freshman Jessica Holler turned in a dominant performance at the
UAA Round Robin I, helping the No. 4-ranked Eagles to three
victories.
The 6-foot-1 Holler played in all nine of the squad's sets and
topped the team with a blistering .553 hitting percentage
(27-1--47) while playing a key defensive role as well with a 2.33
blocks-per-set showing. In the opening match of the Round
Robin, a 3-0 decision over Carnegie Mellon, Holler was third on the
team with nine terminations, hit .500 (9-1--16) and chalked up a
match-high seven blocks. She followed that effort by tying
for match honors with 10 kills en route to a .833 attack percentage
(10-0--12), and contributing nine blocks (1-8) as the Eagles swept
NYU. In the weekend, finale, a 3-0 verdict over host Case
Western Reserve, she compiled a hitting percentage of .421
(8-0--19) and paced all players with five total blocks
(1-4).
Jessica's efforts helped Emory raise its overall record to
21-1.
