Jessica Holler Earns UAA Volleyball Honor

Senior Jessica Holler (Roswell, GA) has been named by the University Athletic Association as Co-Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a first-place finish at the conference championships.  It is the fourth time this season and 10th in her career that she has been selected for the honor. She shares the award with Molly Higgins of Carnegie Mellon.

The 6-foot-1 Holler played in all 10 of the team's sets over three matches and wound up pacing the squad in kills (3.50 kps), attack percentage (.574, 35-4--54) and blocks (1.00 bps) as Emory brought home its fifth league crown in the past eight campaigns. Holler paced or shared for the team lead in kills in all three outings, including a 15-terminations effort, which also saw her hit .714 (15-0--21) and add four block assists in a 3-1 won over No. 14 Washington University in the semifinals. In the title match vs. No. 21 Carnegie Mellon, Holler topped all players with 12 successful attack attempts and hit .474 (12-3--19) as the Eagles posted a 3-0 victory. In addition, Holler doled out three service aces and chipped in three block assists.

So far this year, Holler has registered 21 matches of double-figure kills.  She leads the UAA in hitting percentage (.397) and is fourth in kills per set (3.10 kps) and third in blocks (0.99 bps).

Holler and her teammates open NCAA Tournament action at the Brockport, New York Regional where they will tangle with the College of New Rochelle on Friday starting at 3:00 pm.
