Sophomore Sara Carr helped the Emory volleyball team to a pair of South Region victories.

The 5-foot-11 Carr led the team in kills average (4.00 kps) and was second in digs (3.38 dps) as the Eagles defeated Hendrix College and Birmingham Southern, raising their overall record to 21-5.

Carr led all players with 13 terminations and hit .400 (13-3--25) in a sweep of the Warriors of Hendrix. In addition, she was second on the squad with nine digs and added a pair of service aces to the cause. She followed that performance with a match-leading 19 kills, her sixth straight effort in double digits, and contributed 18 digs (tying second-highest seasonal output) in a 3-2 verdict against BSC.

Through matches played Oct. 22, Carr is first on the team and fourth among UAA players in kills (3.15 kps), and is 11th in hitting percentage (.278).
