Emory University finished the 2004 season with a national rank of 29th, according to the NCAA Division III poll conducted by the Cross Country Coaches Association of America.
Sophomore Amy DiBianca finished 51st out of 215 runners at the NCAA Division III national championships, defeating 90 runners from nationally ranked schools. At the race, DiBianca ran her personal best six-kilometer race in 22 minutes and 45 seconds. This is the fourth-best 6,000-meter time in Emory history. DiBianca qualified for the national championships as an individual with her fifth-place finish at the NCAA regionals.
Emory finished second at the NCAA Division III regional championships, ending a streak of 13 consecutive NCAA regional team championships and 13 consecutive team berths at the NCAA national championships. Emory had the second-longest active streak of consecutive appearances at the NCAA nationals and the fourth-highest number of team appearances ever at the NCAA nationals.
Four Emory runners earned spots on the all-region team. This marks the 13th season that Emory has had at least four runners on the all-region team.
Emory finished second at the University Athletic Association championships, its 14th consecutive top-three finish at the conference meet. Emory had five all-conference runners, including three first-team honorees.

Dorothy Boone
Boone, Emory's captain and a senior, finished first or second for
Emory in six of her eight races this season. She finished third
overall and first for Emory at the University Athletic Association
championships. Boone's third-place finish was her highest ever at
the conference championships, earning her a spot on the
all-conference first team. Boone ran her season best time, 18
minutes and 54 seconds, at the Clemson Invitational, where she
finished seventh overall and second for Emory. She completed the
season with 1,050 wins and 102 losses and a winning percentage of
.911, the second highest on the team.
Andrea Cover
Cover finished in the top seven for Emory in the seven races she
ran this season. The senior ran her career-best time at the Clemson
Invitational where she ran the five-kilometer course in 19 minutes
and 48 seconds. Cover's best finish overall came at the first race
of the season, the Sewanee Invitational, where she finished 14th
among 155 runners. Cover was awarded the Coach's Award for her
achievements this season.
Angela Davie
Davie was named to the all-conference team for the third
consecutive year for her seventh-place finish at the University
Athletic Association championships. Davie placed in the top 10
overall in seven of eight races and was in the top five overall in
four races. She was the top finisher for Emory in six of the eight
races she ran. Davie's season best time came at the Clemson
Invitational where she finished third out of 95 runners, with a
time of 18 minutes and 31 seconds, which tied for the 20th best
5,000-meter time in Emory history. Davie finished the season with a
record of 1,084 wins and 68 losses, a winning percentage of .941,
the highest on the team.
Amy DiBianca
DiBianca, a sophomore, was Emory's only representative at the NCAA
national meet, finishing 51st out of 215 runners. Her time of 22
minutes and 45 seconds for the 6,000 meter course was her career
best, and the fourth-fastest 6k time in Emory history. DiBianca
garnered all-region honors by finishing fifth overall at the NCAA
regional meet. DiBianca came in third at the University Athletic
Association championships, to earn a spot on the all-conference
second team. She compiled the most wins on the team with 1,216 wins
against 150 losses for an .890 win percentage. DiBianca was honored
as the team's Most Valuable Performer.
Caroline Hagedorn
Hagedorn was Emory's second-highest finisher at the NCAA regional
championships. The sophomore finished sixth overall out of 144
runners, earning a place on the all-region team for the second time
of her career, and missing nationals by only one spot. Hagedorn
earned a place on the all-conference first team for her fifth-place
finish in the UAA championships. Her best time of the season was at
the Clemson Invitational where she ran an 18:54, good for eighth
overall in a field of 95 runners. Hagedorn was among the top 15
finishers overall in six of the seven races she ran this season,
and was among Emory's top five finishers in every race she ran.
Katie Parafinzuk
Parafinczuk finished 25th overall at the NCAA regional
championships, earning a spot on the all-region team. Parafinczuk
finished in the top 10 among Emory runners in all eight races that
she ran this season, and finished in the top five among Emory
runners in two races. Parafinczuk, a sophomore, ran her career best
time of 19 minutes and 39 seconds at the Clemson Invitational. Her
highest finish of the season came at the Georgia State University
Invitational, where she finished 15th out of 94 runners. For her
achievements, Parafinczuk was awarded the Most Improved Runner
award for her strong finish at the NCAA regionals and for making
the all-region team for the first time in her career.
Lauren Shores
A freshman, Shores earned a spot on the all-region and
all-conference teams this season. She finished 20th at the NCAA
regional championships and 10th at the conference championships.
Shores' highest finish of the season came at the Sewanee
Invitational where she finished eighth overall out of 155 runners.
Shores ran her best time of the season at the Clemson invitational,
in 19 minutes and six seconds, In seven of the eight races Shores
ran this season, she was a top-five finisher for Emory. Shores'
performance this season earned her the team's Most Outstanding
Newcomer award. Additionally, she earned a spot on the
Southregionrunning.com Regional All-Freshman First Team.
