(Nov. 12) -- Senior Amy DiBianca (Winston-Salem, NC) helped Emory to a first-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional (Nov. 11) and an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships. DiBianca took home first-place finish out of 177 runners with an 8K time of 22:54. DiBianca spearheaded a solid Emory effort that featured three of the top six finishers and five of the top 16. Amy's effort enabled her to claim First Team All-South Region honors and represented the third time this season that she had been Emory's top runner in a meet.
(Oct. 30) -- Senior Amy DiBianca (Winston-Salem, NC) was the team's top peformer at the 20th Annual University Athletic Association Cross Championships this past weekend (Oct. 28). DiBianca finished seventh overall in the 74-runner field with a 6K time of 22:41.74. It was her fifth meet of the campaign and marked the second time that she ranked as the Eagles' top runner. Emory recorded a third-place finish at the Championships.
(Oct. 9) -- Sophomore Rebecca Willett (Mobile, AL) posted an eighth-place finish out of 105 runners at the Georgia State Invitational held on Oct. 7. Willett led a group of four Emory contestants with a 5K time of 20:16, career best. It was Willett's third competition of the season.
(Oct. 2) -- Senior Jennifer Cronin was Emory's top finisher and ninth overall in a field of 118 runners at the Georgia Collegiate Championships this past weekend in Macon, Georgia. Cronin turned in a time of 19:557 over the 5K course in helping the Eagles to a fifth-place finish out of 15 teams. Her time at the Georgia Collegiate competition represented a season best for her and marked the first time this year that she had posted a first-place finish among Emory runners.
(Sept. 25) -- Senior Amy DiBianca was Emory's top finisher and the
top collegiate performer at the Great American Cross Festival last
weekend in Hoover, Alabama. DiBianca turned in a time of
19:29.5 over the 5K course in helping the Eagles to a first-place
finish in the Women's Seeded Competition. DiBianca competed
against 149 entrants and was one of three Emory runners to finish
in the top 6.
(Sept. 18) -- Emory University junior Lauren Shores turned in a team best and fourth-place finish overall out of 131 runners this past weekend at the Alabama Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa. Shores covered the 5K course in a season-best 1time of 18:29.2. Her effort helped the Eagles to a second-place finish out of 17 teams with 73 points, trailing only Mississippi State's first-place mark of 33 points. It marked the second straight meet that Shores had been the top Emory runner as she posted a fourth-place finish overall at the Sewanee Invitational on Sept. 2.
(Sept. 5) -- Emory University junior Lauren Shores got her season
off to a fine start as she helped the Eagles to a second-place
finish out of 15 teams at the Sewanee Invitational this past
weekend. Shores finished fourth out of 159 competitors with a
time of 18:35.4 over the 5K course, representing the fastest time
ever recorded by an Emory contestant in that event Shores,
the top D-III performer in the competition, was one of three Emory
runners to place among the top 13 finishers. As a team, Emory
finished with 58 points and trailed only Mississippi State's
first-place effort of 28 points.
