The No. 27 Emory women's cross country team battled less than ideal
conditions this morning at the University of Georgia Invitational
but still managed to record a runner-up finish out of five
teams. The Invitational was held at the UGA Equestrian
Complex.
Emory registered 50 points and trailed only host Georgia's mark of
15 points. Augusta State (85 pts.), North Georgia (117 pts.)
and Oglethorpe (149 pts.) rounded out the field.
Junior Natalie Fenn paced the Emory pack with a 5K time of 20:28,
good for ninth place in the 61-runner field. Junior Jenny
Feinberg was the second Eagle to cross the finish line with her
showing a 20:39 placing her 12th. Senior Rebecca Flink
(20:50), freshman Melanie Frank (20:57) and sophomore Sara Gelb
(21:09) rounded out the team's scorers while claiming the Nos.
16-18 positions, respectively.
Emory will now set its sights on next Saturday's prestigious Griak
Invitational in Minneapolis.
