Emory Athletics Weekly Preview - March 2nd - 8th

The Eagles Weekly Preview for March 2nd – 8th. This preview is to serve as a weekly snapshot of all upcoming athletic events for the coming week.

 

Softball

After dropping a pair of games to Christopher Newport and Lynchburg over the weekend, the softball team looks to regroup with a full week slate of games. The Eagles will host Covenant College in a Tuesday doubleheader, weather permitting, before venturing west to Tucson, AZ for eight games in five days at the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic.

Women’s Tennis

Following their ITA National Indoor Championships runner-up performance, the Eagles return to the WoodPEC to face off against Division I's Penn State University.

Baseball

After taking two of three from Covenant, the soaring Eagles (8-2) host Mary Washington in a three-game set this weekend at Chappell Park. Emory is averaging over 10 runs a game and has won seven of its past eight games.

Men’s Basketball

The No. 12 ranked Eagles have been selected to host the opening rounds of the NCAA Championships and will welcome the four-pod featuring Methodist University, Centre College and Pomona-Pitzer to Atlanta. Action begins Friday night with a doubleheader at the WoodPEC.

Track & Field

Following the UAA Championships, the Eagles will send a small group north to Tufts University in a final effort to qualify for next week’s NCAA Indoor Championships.

After taking down Cumberlands by a 9-0 margin, the top-ranked men’s tennis team hosts Rhodes at the WoodPEC Saturday morning.
