Emory University turned in a top-10 finish in the 2021 Fall Learfield Director's Cup as the Eagles' accumulated a combined total of 270 points to finish eighth out of over 400 Division III programs in the fall.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's NCAA Tournament finishes in up to 18 sports - nine women's and nine men's. Announced in late December, the fall standings include results for men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball and men's water polo.

All five traditional fall varsity athletic programs qualified for the NCAA postseason with the volleyball team securing 64 points for Emory's total, advancing to the NCAA Regional Finals for the 11th consecutive year. The women's cross country team had its best NCAA finish since 2007, placing 19th overall to earn 55 points towards the Director's Cup with the men's cross country team notching 51 points following a 23rd place finish at nationals. Rounding out the Emory scoring were the men's and women's soccer teams which both advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament, earning 50 points each towards the standings.

The Eagles will be looking once again to earn a spot in the top 10 of the Directors' Cup with continued NCAA success in the winter and spring seasons. The competition was canceled in both 2019-20 and 2020-21 due to COVID-19. Prior to the cancellations, the Eagles had finished inside the top-10 in the final Director's Cup standings in nine consecutive years and 18 of the last 19 seasons.
