15 from Track & Field Honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes

The Emory University men's and women's track & field teams were recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) last week, earning the All-Academic Team award.

To earn the All-Academic Team award, the cumulative GPA of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter. The Emory men posted a combined GPA of 3.66 with the women coming in at 3.63.

Furthermore, 15 Eagles were honored by the USTFCCCA by being named as All-Academic Athletes. For the All-Academic Athlete award, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS or competed on a top 35 relay.

Earning recognition for the men were Marcus Cheema, Tommy Davis, Dawit Dean, Brett Lucas, Spencer Moore, Sam Ryba, Kenya Sei and Spencer Watry while for the women Kaya Binetti, Clementine Bodus, Dashiel Tao Harris, Audrey Johnson, Libby Ranocha, Annika Urban and Nyjah Willis were honored.

Among the 15 earning academic recognition, seven were crowned as All-Americans during the 2023 season, highlighted by Urban winning national championships in the 1500m and mile at the indoor and outdoor championships.
