Jackson Klutznick Receives 2023 SwingU NCAA Division III Player of the Fall Award After Record-Setting Season

Emory senior men's golfer Jackson Klutznick was named the 2023 SwingU NCAA Division III Player of the Fall, as announced Tuesday afternoon. Klutznick received the award after leading the Eagles to their 21st UAA Championship while also setting new program-best single-round and three-round scores earlier this year.

The Denver, Colorado native kicked off his fall season with a dominant victory at the Gate City Invitational, shooting a program-best score of 197 (-16) over three rounds. The senior broke his own previous three-round record of 206, which was also the first time an Emory golfer has shot under 200 in a three-round competition. Klutznkick's final round of the event, shooting a 61 (-10) with eight birdies and a hole in one, boosted Emory to an early season team-victory. His 61 in the third and final round of the event also set a new single-round program record, trouncing his previous mark of 64, which he set in 2021.

With Klutznick's record-setting performance, the Eagles went on to win the event by 16 strokes in a competition made up of several teams receiving votes in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll.

After an incredible first-place performance at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, Klutznick was named SwingU's September Golfer of the Month.

Klutznick's impressive season continued into October, leading the Eagles to a four-stroke win at the Tartan Invitational, a fourth-place finish at the competitive GolfWeek October Classic, and a shared title of the UAA Championship. Klutznick excelled at the conference championship in Sandestin, Florida, going 2-0 in match play. The senior finished the fall with 59 birdies and a 71.25 scoring average over 12 rounds of play.

Klutznick and the Eagles will be back on the course on March 4th to start their spring season in the Savannah Invitational.
