Chris Blocker was named Assistant Athletic Trainer at Emory in June of 2017.  

Blocker joins the Eagles' staff after serving as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Life University. During his stint with the Running Eagles’ program, he worked with the men’s basketball, men’s soccer, bowling and swimming programs. The men's basketball squad advanced to the final game of the 2017 NAIA national championship. 

Chris attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where he earned his B.S. degree in Athletic Training in 2015.  While at UNCP, he worked as a student trainer, assisting with a host of teams including wrestling, softball, soccer, basketball, tennis and football.  He also performed rotations at Red Springs High School and St. Paul’s High School as an undergraduate.

A native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Blocker earned his master’s degree in Sports Injury Management from Life University in June of 2017.  He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Georgia.  He is First Aid Certified for CPR/AED.

Chris and his wife, Cegi, reside in Marietta.
