Emory University senior pitcher Matthew Katten picked up two wins in as many starts for the Eagles during the University Athletic Association (UAA) Tournament last weekend.  Katten combined to pitch 13 innings for the Eagles, going 2-0 with a 1.38 ERA and eight strikeouts, holding opponents to a .224 batting average.  In his first start of the tournament, a 7-1 win over Brandeis, the righty allowed just one unearned run in eight innings, giving up just five hits and two walks while striking out five.  He returned four days later to pitch Emory to a 12-5 win over Brandeis, allowing two runs and six hits in five innings.  With the wins, Katten improved to 3-1 on the season, while lowering his ERA to 2.86.  Katten has helped Emory to a record of 10-8, including a 3-2 mark in UAA play last week.
