Senior (2015):

Byman was a key component out of the bullpen for the Eagles during the 2015 season, appearing in 18 games, the second-most by an Emory pitcher during the year.  He went 1-1 with one save and a 2.95 ERA, holding opponents to a career-best .239 batting average during his 21.1 innings of work.  Right-handed hitters batted just .197 (14-for-71) against Byman during the season.  He held his opposition scoreless in 11 of his 18 outings, and one earned run or less 16 times.  The right-handed pitcher worked in three games during the Eagles postseason without allowing a hit or a walk, and surrendering just one unearned run in three innings.  Byman pitched an additional 3.1 hitless innings out of the bullpen during three appearances at the UAA Championships.  He finished his career with a 2-3 record and a 3.76 ERA over 42 appearances.

Junior (2014):

Byman matched his career high with nine appearances for the Eagles during his junior campaign, eight of which came out of the bullpen.  He finished the year with an ERA of 3.00, surrendering just 14 hits in 15.0 innings for a .246 opponents’ batting average.  The right-handed pitcher allowed just two earned runs in his final seven appearances of the year, including a three-inning outing in the National Championship game against the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, during which he allowed just one hit.  Byman held his opponents scoreless in six of his eight relief appearances during the year.

Sophomore (2013):

Byman was a key member of the Eagles’ pitching staff during his sophomore season, appearing in nine games, including three in a starting role.  Byman was 0-1 during the year with a 2.70 ERA over 23.1 innings pitched, including a 0.00 ERA with just nine hits and four walks allowed over his six relief appearances, spanning 13 innings.  He held opposing hitters to a .308 batting average, including a .209 average in relief appearances.  The right-handed pitcher threw four shutout innings out of the bullpen against NCAA Tournament participant Methodist on April 21^st, limiting the Monarchs to just three hits and recording one strikeout. Byman added three shutout innings of relief against Maryville on April 17^th, surrendering just one hit.

Freshman (2012):

Byman appeared in six games out of the bullpen for the Eagles during the 2012 season, finishing the year with a 1-1 record.  He allowed 10 earned runs (and 12 total) over 9.2 innings pitched for a 9.31 earned run average, striking out four batters and walking four.  Byman earned his first career victory during an 11-7 win over Brandeis University, pitching the final five innings of the game and allowing two runs on five hits with two strikeouts.  The righty also pitched a scoreless inning and a third against Methodist University on April 21st, holding the Monarchs without a hit during the outing.  Lefties were just one-for-eight (.125) against Byman during the season.

Prior to Emory:

Played for the Ravenscroft High School baseball team for four seasons, serving as the team's captain during his senior year... Was his team's Most Valuable Player in 2011, also earning all-conference honors during the year... Led his team to a conference championship during the 2010 season... Struck out 28 batter in 33 innings with a 2.80 ERA during his senior year, while also batting .425 with three walk-off extra base hits... Coached by Ned Gonet.
