Emory Baseball Drops Mid-Week Contest at #3 LaGrange

The Emory University baseball team suffered a setback at No. 3 ranked LaGrange College Wednesday night, falling by a score of 15-4 at Cleaveland Field.

The Eagles fell behind early as the Panthers struck for three in the home half of the first and would lead by 12 following a six-run fourth and a three-run fifth. Emory cashed in with a three spot in the sixth but LaGrange answered with another three run inning in their half of the sixth frame.

Junior Walker Woolf and freshman Zach Wasserlauf provided the RBI for the Eagles while senior Jack Masonis and junior Steven Hunt each had two-hit efforts at the plate.

Senior Aaron Mishoulam took the loss in his second-ever start, allowing nine runs (8 ER) over 3.1 innings. He struck out five and only walked one. His counterpart, Eduardo Peralta, earned the win, striking out 10 Emory batters over four scoreless innings.

Emory looks to rebound this weekend, hosting crosstown rival Oglethorpe University in a three-game set at Chappell Park. Games one and two will be pat of twinbill Saturday afternoon starting at noon with the series finale taking place at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
