Piedmont Takes Series Finale from Emory Baseball

The Emory University baseball team fell in the series finale to Piedmont University Sunday afternoon at Loudermilk Field in Demorest, Georgia.

A seven-run third inning was the difference as the Lions broke open the game on their way to the three game sweep. With the loss, the Eagles now see their season record move to 10-8 while Piedmont improves to 13-6.

Four different Eagles notched a base hit in the loss as Emory compiled two runs on four hits over the nine innings. Senior Tyler McLoughlin had one of the base knocks, delivering a run-scoring double for the Eagles' first run of the game in the second.

Freshman Josh Zuckerman took the loss in the start, moving his record to 1-1 across three starts.

Emory looks to rebound Tuesday afternoon when the team travels to Rome for a metting with Berry College at 3:00 PM.
