PALMS IN THE HUNT AT MID-AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP
(Sept. 6) - Former Emory golf
All-American Lee Palms made an excellent showing on the first
day of competition at the 2008 United States Mid-Amateur
Championship held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Palms shot an even-par round of 70 at the 7,004-yard Milwaukee
Country Club, good for an 11th-place tie in the 264-player
field. Following Sunday's second round of stroke play, the
field will be cut to the low 64 scorers who advance to match
play. Palms will move to the Brown Deer Course while those
who played the Brown Deer Course today will move to the Milwaukee
Country Club for their second round.
Palms, now a native of Greenville, South Carolina, earned
All-America acclaim in 1990 and 1991 and was the NCAA Division IIII
national champion in 1991.
Tim Jackson fired the best round of the day, a five-under 65 at the
Milwaukee Country Club.

PALMS TO COMPETE IN U.S.
AMATEUR
(Aug. 15) - Former Emory golf All-American Lee Palms
has enjoyed a busy and productive summer on the links including
qualifying for the U.S. Amateur, the oldest championship conducted
by the United States Golf Association.
Palms earned a spot in the U.S. Amateur field following a
fourth-place finish at the U.S. Amateur Qualifier, held July 28-29
at the Colleton River Plantation - Dye Course in Bluffton,
SC.
Following that performance, Palms, a native of Greenville, SC,
captured the South Carolina Golf Association Amateur Championship,
firing an impressive 72-hole score of five-under 283. It
represented his second SCGA major championship, having also claimed
the 2003 Mid-Amateur.
Palms was a four-year member of the Emory golf program (1988-91)
and earned All-America acclaim his junior and senior seasons.
He was the NCAA Division III national champion in 1991.
The 2008 U.S. Amateur will be held Aug. 18-24 at the Pinehurst
Resort and Country Club in Pinehurst, NC.
EMORY GOLF NAMES JOHN SJOBERG ASSISTANT
COACH
(July 10, 2008) - Emory University head golf coach Michael Phillips
has announced the appointment of John Sjoberg as assistant
coach.
Sjoberg comes to the Emory program after serving as the assistant
professional at the Duke University Golf Club in Durham, NC, since
2005. Among his responsibilities were serving as the primary
liaison between the course and the university's men's and women's
golf programs, administration of tournament events and
instruction.
Sjoberg attended Methodist University and was a member of the golf
team from 2002 through 2004. He was part of a program that
earned three trips to the NCAA Tournament while claiming a pair of
USA South Athletic Conference crowns.
"I am pleased that John will be joining the Emory golf program as
assistant coach," Phillips said. "His background and skills
will be very helpful in preparing our team to compete at the
highest level. The experience that he brings is impressive,
having earned his PGA card after graduating from Methodist
University and working at the Duke University Golf Club for three
years. I am excited about having John on board with a solid
returning team along with several very good newcomers."
Sjoberg earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business
administration from Methodist in 2005. He will also teach golf
classes in Emory's Department of Physical Education.
2007-08 GOLF RECAP
The Emory University golf team turned in yet another solid
campaign in 2007-08 with the team recording a number of highlights.
Competing in the always tough South Region, which boasted four of
the nation's top 10 D-III programs, the Eagles closed out the year
with the following accomplishments. * A No. 19
national ranking in the final Golf World/NIKE Division III
Poll.
* Its second consecutive team title at the University
Athletic Association Championship, the school's 12th-ever
conference crown. The Eagles outdistanced runner-up Carnegie
Mellon by 24 strokes and saw all five players earn All-UAA
honors. Emory's decisive opening-round score of 286 at the
UAAs was the best showing in school history at the league
championship while the squad's 36-hole total tied the school's
second-best performance at the event.
* Head Coach Mike Phillips and his assistant, Mike DiLonardo were
recognized as the UAA's Coaching Staff of the Year award
recipients. It represented the ninth time that Phillips had earned
that honor.
* The school's sixth straight and 13th-ever bid to the NCAA D-III
Championships where it posted a 15th-place finish.
Junior Jeremy Evans ended the season with the
team's best scoring average at 75.2 strokes per round. Evans
either led or tied as the squad's top performer in six tourneys
including a tie for 28th place at the NCAA D-III
Championships. Evans also chalked up a runner-up performance
out of 86 players at the O'Briant Memorial during the fall portion
of the schedule and helped Emory to a fourth-place finish out of 18
teams. At the O'Briant, Jeremy came up with back-to-back
rounds of 70 and his finish of 140 tied for the third-lowest,
two-round score by an Emory individual in school history. He
totaled five rounds of par or better including a 69 at the
Oglethorpe Fall Invitational which tied as the team's best 18-hole
mark of the season. Evans tied for second place at the UAA
Championships and in the process earned a First Team spot on the
All-UAA Team. He was recognized as the UAA Golfer of the Week
on four occasions.
Junior Patrick Cohn turned in a breakout year and
was right behind Evans in scoring average with a 75.7 per-round
mark. The St. Louis, Mo., native finished or shared the top
spot as the team's top player in four tournaments including a
fifth-place performance out of 80 contestants at the Emory Spring
Invitational. Cohn also paced the Emory contingent with an
18th-place finish in the 120-player pack at the prestigious Jekyll
Island Invitational. He also garnered a first-team berth on
the All-UAA Team by virture of tying for second place. Cohn
paced the field after the first day of the conference championship
with a 69, which would eventually tie him with Evans for the low
round of the season by an Emory player.
The lone senior on the team was Drew Harker who
capped off his career playing in a total of 21 out of a possible 25
rounds and averaging 77.0 strokes per 18 holes. The four-year
letterwinner ranked as Eagles' top man during the fall at the
Rhodes Classic and the Greensboro Invitational. A
co-captain with Evans on the '07-08 team, Drew closed out his
career playing in a total of 85 rounds and averaging 77.5 strokes
per outing.
Sophomore John Ross continued his improvement and
saw action in seven of 11 tournaments while putting a total of 17
rounds under his belt. Ross ranked No. 3 among the team's
regular players in scoring average with an average of 76.5
strokes. Ross brought home First Team All-UAA acclaim after a
second-place finish. His opening round 72 at the UAA's stood
as his best score of the season.

Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars Team
(May 19) - Emory University juniors Jeremy
Evans (Palm Harbor, FL) and Patrick Cohn
(St. Louis, MO) have earned spots on the 2007-08 Division
III Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Team. The announcement
was made by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
A dual major in history and religion, Evans claims a 3.49
grade-point average and completed the year with a team-best 75.2
strokes per-round average. He either ranked or tied as the squad's
top performer in six of 11 competitions including the recently
concluded NCAA Championships where he tied for 28th out of 120
players. During the fall portion of the schedule he paced all
Emory performers and placed second out of 86 competitors at the Tom
& Bettie O'Briant Memorial.
Cohn, a dual major as well in history and economics, enjoyed a
breakout season and led or shared for the top spot on the club in
three tournaments including the Pine Needles Invitational and the
Jekyll Island Invitational. Cohn played a total of 19 rounds
in 2007-08 and stood No. 2 on the team in stroke average with a
75.7 per-round effort. Cohn posts a 3.56 GPA.
Both Evans and Cohn helped the Eagles to the University Athletic
Association Championship and earned first team all-league honors in
the process.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, an
individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in
at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70
percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA
Championships, have a stroke average of under 79.0 in Division III
and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2.
ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY (MN) RALLIES TO
CLAIM SECOND STRAIGHT NCAA D-III MEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS - EMORY
FINISHES 15TH
(May 16) - St. John's University of
Minnesota rallied from eight strokes back on Friday to capture its
second straight NCAA Division III Golf Championship. The
72-hole tournament was held at the Chateau Elan Resort in
Braselton, Ga. All 23 teams competed on the 7,030-yard,
par-71 Chateau Course the last two days of action.
Heading into the final 18 holes of play, the Johnnies of Head Coach
Bob Alpers were in fourth place and trailed third-round leader St.
John Fisher by eight strokes. However SJU responded with a
final-day effort of 291, the best mark in the 23-team field, to
capture crown with a total score of 1192. The University of
Redlands finished runner-up in the down-to-the-wire finish at 1195
while St. John Fisher totaled a final-round 306 during to finish at
1199. Methodist and Skidmore College rounded out the top five
with marks of 1203 and 1204, respectively.
"I felt that being in fourth place and being eight strokes behind
the leader was an advantage for us," Alpers said. "All we had
to do was play and it was nice to be unencumbered. I gave the
team a target, the first time I've done that in 16 years, and they
surpassed that by six strokes. These kids have huge hearts
and this has been a great experience for us."
St. John's had two players finish among the top 10 in the
120-player field led by Joe Schoolmeesters whose 294 (76-74-73-71)
was good for sixth place. Matt Bohlig finished with a 297 and
tied for 10th. Capturing medalist honors was Scott Harris,
Jr., of St. John Fisher who led wire-to-wire in fashioning a score
of one-over par 285 (68-71-71-75), five strokes ahead of runner-up
Chris Green of Illinois Wesleyan.
Emory saved its best effort for the final day with its 303 giving
it a 1237. The Eagles, who finished just three shots out of
11th position, were led by junior Jeremy Evans who chalked up a 303
(78-76-78-71), good for 28th-place tie. Evans' final round
score was the best showing by any Emory player during the
Championship. Sophomore John Ross tied for 57th place with a
311 while juniors Patrick Cohn and Sean Madgett rounded out the
team's scorers at 313. Senior Drew Harker, seeing his final
collegiate action, competed and finished at 317.
ST. JOHN FISHER COLLEGE HOLDS FIRST
PLACE AFTER THIRD ROUND OF NCAA D-III MEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS -
EMORY STANDS 16TH
(May 15) - St. John Fisher College
maintained its grip on first place at the NCAA Division III Men's
Golf Championship Thursday afternoon and will head into the final
round with a four stroke lead over the University of
Redlands. The 72-hole tournament is being held at the Chateau
Elan Resort in Braselton, Ga. All 23 teams competed on the
7,030-yard, par-71 Chateau Course today.
The Cardinals posted a team score of 297 during the third round
action giving them a 54-hole mark of 893. Redlands registered
the second-best showing of the day with a 293, leaving it with an
897. Recording the best round on Thursday was Methodist
University with a 291 that put it back into contention with a score
of 900. Rounding out the top five is St. John's University
(MN) at 901 and Oglethorpe University with a 905. Host Emory
University found the going tougher, with its third-round effort of
312 giving it a 934 and placing it 16th in the 23-team field.
Weather was a factor on Thursday, especially in the afternoon when
rain made its way into the Atlanta area. The players who teed
off in the morning weren't affected by the moisture, however the
players on the course past 12:30 p.m. weren't as fortunate and the
team scores for the most part reflected that.
Individually, St. John Fisher's Scott Harris continued his steady
play and still paces the 120-player pack with his second
consecutive even-par 71 leaving him at three-under 210
(68-71-71). Harris owns a seven-stroke cushion over Illinois
Wesleyan's Chris Green (217). The best round of the day was
turned in by Chris DeJohn of Skidmore College who checked in with a
three-under 69. There were a number of outstanding individual
accomplishments, highlighted by a hole-in-one by LaGrange College's
Ryan Howard who aced the 200-yard, par- 8th hole. Tom Muto,
Jr., of St. John Fisher College brought the crowd to its feet when
he eagled the 455-yard, par-4 18th hole.
As for Emory, junior Jeremy Evans stands at 232 (78-76-78) and is
tied for the 42nd spot. Juniors Patrick Cohn and Sean
Madgett, along with sophomore John Ross all check in at 234 and are
deadlocked for 60th place.
The final round of the D-III Championships will be held on Friday.
EMORY GOLF TEAM CLIMBS TO 12th PLACE AT
NCAA D-III CHAMPIONSHIPS - ST. JOHN FISHER COLLEGE PACING THE
FIELD
(May 14) - The 20th-ranked Emory University golf team
moved up the leader board during the second day of competition at
the NCAA Division III Golf Championships and stand tied for 12th
place as the field was pared from 35 teams to 23. The first
two rounds of the 72-hole tournament were played at the Chateau
Course and the Woodlands Course at Chateau Elan Resort in
Braselton, Ga. The final 36 holes will be held at the Chateau
Course.
The Eagles shaved eight strokes off their opening round and
finished with a 305 at the par 71, 7,030-yard Chateau Course,
giving them a two-day effort of 622. St. John Fisher College
holds down the top spot at 596 (302-294), six strokes ahead of
Oglethorpe University's 602 (306-296). St. John Fisher played
Wednesday's round at the 6,738-yard, par-71 Woodlands Course while
Oglethorpe played at the Chateau. The University of Redlands
is just two strokes behind Oglethorpe at 604 (304-300) while St.
John's University (MN) and Methodist University round out the top
five at 605 and 609, respectively.
The Eagles of Head Coach Mike Phillips are led by junior Jeremy
Evans whose 76 on Wednesday gave him a 154 after 36 holes, tying
for 42nd position. Juniors Patrick Cohn and Sean
Madgett are deadlocked with a number of players for 50th place at
155. Madgett shot the team's best round of the afternoon with
a 75 while Cohn registered a 76.
Scott Harris, Jr., of St. John Fisher College stands as the overall
individual leader for the second straight day, firing an even par
on Wednesday for a two-round effort of three-under par
139. Will Scarborough of Wesley College is in hot pursuit of
Harris and is four strokes back at 143. Chris Green of
Illinois Wesleyan (144), Josh Cumming of Greensboro (145) and Lucas
Murray of Mount Union College (146) round out the top five.
Coming through with the best performance of the day was Matt Bohlig
of St. John's University (MN) with a four-under 67 on the Chateau
Course.
EMORY GOLF TEAM TIED FOR 17th AFTER FIRST ROUND OF
NCAA D-III CHAMPIONSHIPS
(May 13) - The 20th-ranked Emory University golf team is
tied for 17th place after the first round of the NCAA Division III
Championships. The first two rounds of the 72-hole tournament
are being played at the Chateau Course and the Woodlands Course at
Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Ga.
Standing in first place in the 35-team field is the University of
La Verne who finished with a seven-over par 291 while playing
the par 71, 7,030-yard Chateau Course. Skidmore College holds
down second place at 301 while St. John Fisher College is third at
302. Linfield College and the University of Redlands are
deadlocked in fourth place at 304.
The Eagles of Head Coach Mike Phillips, playing the rugged 6,738,
par-71 Woodlands Course, were led by junior Jeremy Evans who
finished with a 78, placing him in a tie for 52nd position in the
180-player field. Junior Patrick Cohn was right behind with a
79, tying him with a host of others for 62nd .
La Verne has a pair of players among the top five after the opening
18 holes. Andrew Kramer came through with an even-par 71 and
stands fourth while Chris Davis is in a four-way tie for fifth
place.
Scott Harris, Jr., of St. John Fisher College paced all players
on Tuesday with a three-under 68 at the Chateau Course. Max
Bonk of Pacific (Oregon), playing as an individual, is in second
place with a 69. The only other player to break par during
the opening day of action was Ross Canavan of the University of
Redlands with a 70.
Following Wednesday's round, the field will be pared to 23 teams
and the final two days of action will take place on the Chateau
Course.
20th-RANKED EMORY GOLF TEAM EARNS BID TO
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
(May 5) - The No. 20-ranked Emory
University golf team has been selected to compete in the 2008 NCAA
Division III Golf Championships. The Eagles are one of 35
teams vying for the team title that will be played May 13-16 at the
Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Georgia.
Serving as co-hosts of this year's Division III National
Championships will be Emory University and the Gwinnett County
Sports Commission.
Emory was one of eight teams selected from Pool B which consists of
independent institutions, and institutions that are members of
conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic
qualification. A total of 25 conferences were awarded
automatic bids while the final two berths were reserved for Pool C
- institutions from automatic qualifying conferences that are not
conference champs and any remaining Pool B teams. In
addition, five individuals from non-qualifying teams were chosen to
participate bringing the field to 180 players.
The first two days of competition (May 13 & 14) will be played
at both the Woodlands Course and Chateau Course. The field
will then be cut to 23 teams and five individuals after the first
two rounds. The final two rounds will be played on the
Chateau Course.
Emory will be making its sixth straight NCAA appearance and 13th
overall in the 23-year history of the program. Last season, the
Eagles posted a 14th-place finish. St. John's University (MN)
captured the team title finishing 12 strokes ahead of runner-up
University of LaVerne.
The top seven teams ranked nationally in the Division III ranks
will be among those in the hunt for this year's national
crown. Methodist holds down the No. 1 spot in the Golf
World/NIKE Coaches' Poll while Oglethorpe, St. John's (MN),
Gustavus Adolphus and Huntingdon round out the top five.
EMORY GOLF TEAM CAPTURES UAA
CHAMPIONSHIPS -- THREE EAGLES EARN FIRST TEAM ALL-UAA
HONORS
(Apr. 15) -- The No. 21-ranked Emory University golf team defended
its University Athletic Association title on Tuesday afternoon,
recording a resounding 24-stroke win over runner-up Carnegie
Mellon. The 36-hole event was played on the 6,927-yard, par-72
Crooked Cat Course at the Orange County National Golf Center in
Orlando, Fla.
The Eagles of Head Coach Mike Phillips battled cool and windy
conditions during the second day of action and posted a score of
305 to finish with a two-day mark of 591. The Tartans of
Carnegie Mellon came through with through with the best team score
of the day with a 302 and finished at 615. Rounding out the
field were New York University (305-314-619), the University of
Rochester (305-318-623) and Brandeis University
(321-329-650). Ironically, the Eagles posted the same team
score last season at Crooked Cat en route to bringing home the
crown.
Juniors Patrick Cohn (69-78-147) and
Jeremy Evans (71-76-147), along with sophomore
John Ross (72-75-147), all tied for second place
in the 25-player field and earned First Team All-UAA honors for
their performances. It marked the second straight year that Evans
captured first-team acclaim and the first time for both Cohn and
Ross. Senior Drew Harker (74-77-151) tied
for seventh place while junior Sean Madgett
(80-77-157) tied for 11th position with the pair bringing home
Second Team All-UAA recognition. Claiming medalist honors was Ryan
Williams of Rochester with a 146 (72-74).
Head Coach Mike Phillips was recognized by his peers by being
selected as UAA Coach of the Year for the ninth time. Since
competing at the UAA Championships in 1988, Phillips has led the
Eagles to 12 conference titles.
EMORY GOLF TEAM STANDS FIRST AFTER
OPENING ROUND OF UAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
(Apr. 14) - The No. 21-ranked Emory University golf team
turned in a record-setting day and stands firmly in first place
after the opening round of the University Athletic Association
Championships. The 36-hole event is being played on the
6,927-yard, par-72 Crooked Cat Course at the Orange County National
Golf Center in Orlando, Fla.
The Eagles of Head Coach Mike Phillips fired a season-low round of
two-under par 286 and own a 19-stroke lead over both New York
University and the University of Rochester who finished at
305. Carnegie Mellon (313) and Brandeis (321) round out the
field.
Emory's team score represents the lowest round in UAA Championship
play in school history, bettering the previous standard of 291 set
during the first round of the 1999 Championship which was played at
Smoke Rise Golf and Country Club, and is the second-lowest round
ever turned in by any UAA member. Rochester holds the UAA
Championship low round standard with a 282 set in 1989 at the East
Course at Norwood Hills in Saint Louis.
Junior Patrick Cohn (St. Louis, MO) leads the
25-player field after concluding the first day with an exceptional
showing of three-under 69, tying him with Lee Palms (1969) for the
second-lowest individual effort at the UAA Championship in school
history. Junior Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL) was
the only other player to break par on Monday, firing a one-under
71. Sophomore John Ross (N. Barrington, IL)
was the next Emory player to place with his even-par performance of
72 tying him with Ryan Williams of Rochester for third place.
Senior Drew Harker posted a 74 and is in a
three-way for fifth place.
Emory will aim to defend its team title and bring home its fifth
conference crown in the last seven years on the final day of action
on Tuesday.
NO. 21-RANKED EMORY GOLF TEAM EYES UAA
CHAMPIONSHIP
(Apr. 12) - The 21st -ranked Emory
University golf team returns to action on Monday and Tuesday (Apr.
14-15) when it competes at the 2008 University Athletic Association
Championships. This year's 36-hole event will be at the
Orange County National Golf Center in Orlando, Fla., and played on
the Crooked Cat Course. Crooked Cat is a par 72, 6,748-yard
course with a rating of 72.9 and slope of 134.
Emory enters the event as defending champion, finishing 11 strokes
ahead of runner-up New York University. The Eagles paced the
five-team field (Emory, NYU, Carnegie Mellon, Rochester and
Brandeis) with a score of 591 while NYU checked in at
602. Jeremy Evans and Sean Madgett were Emory's top
performers, tying for fifth place with scores 148.
This year marks Emory's 21st trip to the UAA Championships.
In its previous 20 appearances, the Eagles have claimed 11
championships including four in their last six appearances.
In the squad's last outing, Emory finished fourth out of 15 teams
at the Emory Spring Invitational (Apr. 7-8), recording a 36-hole
score of 605 (294-311) at the Stonemount Course at Stone Mountain
Golf Club. No. 1-ranked Methodist University defended its
Invitational championship with a mark of 582 (292-290).
EMORY GOLF TEAM POSTS FOURTH-PLACE
FINISH AT SPRING INVITATIONAL
(Apr. 8) - The No. 21-ranked Emory University golf team finished
fourth out of 15 teams at the Emory Spring Invitational. The
36-hole tournament was played at the 6,863-yard, par-70 Stonemount
Course at the Stone Mountain Golf Club.
The Eagles shot a second-day score of 311 to finish at 605.
Capturing the team championship for the second straight year was
No. 1-ranked Methodist with a 22-over par effort of 582 (292-290).
No. 4-ranked Oglethorpe totaled a Tuesday round of 295 to finish
the tourney with runner-up honors at 595. Holding down third
place was No. 3 Huntingdon (295-303-598) while LaGrange College
(305-306-611) rounded out the top five squads.Claiming medalist
honors was Nick Bova of Methodist College who bested Taylor
Urbanski of Oglethorpe on the first hole of a playoff. Both
Bova and Taylor fired a two-round regulation mark of four-over par
144. Lee Nalley of Huntingdon (72-73-145) and Josh Schrader
of Methodist (70-75-145) tied for the third spot.
Junior Patrick Cohn was Emory's top performer, registering a
fifth-place finish in the 81-player field with a showing of 146
(73-73). Senior Drew Harker tied for 11th after checking in
with a 150 (73-77). Other team's scorers included
junior Jeremy Evans (154, t-27th), sophomore John Ross (156,
t-33rd) and freshman David Su (157, t-39th). An Emory

The No. 21-ranked Emory University golf team stands
second out of 15 teams after the opening round of the Emory Spring
Invitational. The 36-hole tournament is being played at the
6,863-yard, par-70 Stonemount Course at the Stone Mountain Golf
Club.
The Eagles shot an opening-round team score of 14-over par
294, tying the squad's low round of the season, and trail
only No. 1-ranked and defending Invitational champion Methodist who
compiled a first-day score of 292. Rounding out the top five teams
after day one are Huntingdon College (295), Oglethorpe University
(300) and LaGrange College (305).
Emory senior Drew Harker and junior
Patrick Cohn paced the Eagles' effort with each
player checking in at three-over par 73, tying them for third place
in the 81-player field. Junior Jeremy
Evans and sophomore John Ross each
recorded rounds of 74, good for a ninth-place tie, while freshman
David Su rounded out the team's scorers with a 76,
tying him for 21st position. Josh Schrader of Methodist
College paces the field after the opening round with an even-par 70
with Huntingdon's Lee Nalley in close pursuit at 72.

EMORY SPRING INVITATIONAL AWAITS
EAGLES' GOLF TEAM
(Apr. 5) - The No. 21-ranked Emory
University golf team will host its lone home meet of the season on
Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 7-8) when it competes at the Emory Spring
Invitational. The 36-hole tourney will be held at the
6,863-yard, par-70 Stonemount Course at the Stone Mountain Golf
Club.
This year's field is stockpiled with talent with nine teams ranked
among the nation's top 25 teams among the 15 squads
competing. Some of the schools taking part include No.
1-ranked and defending Invitational champ Methodist College. No.
2-ranked Huntingdon College, No. 4 Oglethorpe and No. 7-ranked and
last year's runner-up, Guilford College, round out the top 10
schools taking part in this year's event.
Last year, the Invitational was conducted at Smoke Rise Golf and
Country Club and Emory finished fourth out of 14 teams. The
Eagles' Jeremy Evans was part of a three-man playoff that
Guilford's Peter Latimer won.
In their most recent outing, the Eagles tied for sixth out of 26
teams at the Jekyll Island Invitational (Mar. 21-23). Junior
Patrick Cohn and senior Drew Harker were the team's top two
competitors with 18th-and 23rd-place finishes, respectively, in the
128-player field.
EMORY MEN'S GOLF TEAM FINISHES
TIED FOR SIXTH AT JEKYLL ISLAND INVITATIONAL
(Mar. 23) - The Emory University golf team finished tied
for sixth place out of 26 teams at the Jekyll Island Invitational.
The 54-hole tournament was played at the 6,521-yard, par-72
Oleander Course on Jekyll Island.
The Eagles recorded a final-day score of 304 and finished the
tourney with a team mark of 909. Taking home first-place team
honors was No. 1-ranked Methodist College with a fine effort of 871
(295-285-291). Huntingdon College claimed the runner-up spot,
registering an 886 (298-298-290) while Oglethorpe took home third
place with an 899 (301-291-307). Illinois Wesleyan (901) and
LaGrange College (906) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Tying Emory for sixth was St. John Fisher College.
Individually, junior Patrick Cohn finished as Emory's leader with a
final round of 75 leaving him with a score of 225 (77-73-75).
Senior Drew Harker was right behind Cohn with a performance of 226
(74-74-78). Sophomore John Ross (228) and junior Jeremy Evans
(232) rounded out the team's scorers while freshman David Su
finished at 238.
Nick Bova of Methodist College was the medalist with a five-under
showing of 211 (71-68-72) while teammate Josh Schrader was second
at 215 (75-70-70).
The Eagles return to action on April 7-8 when they host the Emory
Invitational at Stone Mountain Golf Course.

JEKYLL ISLAND INVITATIONAL
(Mar. 20) - The No. 21-ranked Emory University
golf team continues its spring schedule this Friday through Sunday
(Mar. 21-23) when it competes in the Jekyll Island
Invitational. The 54-hole tourney will be held at the
6,521-yard, par-72 Oleander Course on Jekyll Island.
This year's field will be comprised of approximately 26 teams and
over 150 players. Five of the nation's top 10 teams will be
vying for the team title including No. 1-ranked and defending
champion Methodist. No. 2 Oglethorpe, No. 3 Methodist, No. 6
Rhodes and No. 8 Illinois Wesleyan comprise the rest of the top 10
teams in the field.
Emory representatives will include juniors Jeremy Evans and Patrick
Cohn, senior Drew Harker, sophomore John Ross and freshman David
Su.
Last year, Emory finished tied for eighth out of 24 teams and was
led by Evans who tied for 23rd position in the 132-player
field.
In their most recent outing, the Eagles posted an 11th-place finish
out of 20 teams at the Rome News-Tribune Invitational (Mar.
10-11). Evans recorded a 25th-place effort with a five-over
par 149. Cohn tied for 27th place after checking in at 150.

(Mar. 10) - The No. 19-ranked Emory University
golf team is tied for 13th place out of 20 teams after the first
round of the Rome News-Tribune Invitational. The 36-hole tournament
is being played at the 6,835-yard, par-72 Stonebridge Golf Course
in Rome.
The Eagles shot an opening-round team score of 314. Holding
down the No. 1 spot after the opening 18 holes is Lindenwood (MO)
at even-par 288. Northwood University (FL) and Campbellsville
are tied for second place at 291 while Newman University down the
fourth position with a mark of 293.
Emory Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL) stands as the Emory leader
after the first round, finishing with a three-over par 75.
Junior Patrick Cohn (St. Louis, MO) turned in a solid afternoon and
checked in with a 76. Rounding out the Emory scorers were
sophomore John Ross (North Barrington, IL) and freshman David Su
(Newport Beach, CA) with performances of 81 and 82,
respectively. Junior Will Gallagher (Wagontown, PA) competed
and registered an 83. Junior Sean Madgett is taking part as
an individual player and posted a score of 78. Three players,
Brock Robilliard of Lindenwood, along with Graeme Nelson and Matt
Parziale are tied for the No. 1 medalist spot, all at three-under
69.

University golf team stays within the state boundary next Monday
and Tuesday (Mar. 10-11) when it takes part in the Rome
News-Tribune Invitational. The 36-hole tournament will be
played at the 6,835-yard, par-72 Stonebridge Golf Course in Rome.
This year's field will be comprised of 22 teams and over 100
players. Serving as the host of the Invitational will be
Berry College, the No. 8-ranked team in NAIA. Other ranked
NAIA teams competing include No. 9 Lindewood and No. 12
Campbellsville University. Lee University enters the
competition as the defending champion. Also looking to take home
the title is LaGrange College, ranked 18th among Division III
teams.
In its most recent outing, Emory recorded a sixth-place finish out
of 16 teams at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate (Mar. 3-4).

Collegiate. The 36-hole event was played at the 7,057-yard, par-72
Mountain Course at Callaway Gardens Resort in Pine Mountain,
Georgia.
The Eagles shot a second-day score of 310 and finished with a
36-hole total of 618. No. 2-ranked Methodist captured the team
championship, coming in with a solid 288 during Tuesday's round to
close at 597. Darton Community College took home runner-up
honors with an effort of 607 (311-296) while first-round leader
UT-Tyler went home in third place with a 609 (301-308).
LaGrange College and Rhodes College tied for the fourth spot with
marks of 612.
Emory sophomore John Ross (N. Barrington, IL) and
junior Jeremy Evans (Palm City, FL) were the top
performers for the Eagles, both shooting seven-over par 151 that
tied them for seventh place in the 83-player field. After
checking in with a first-round score of 73, Ross registered a 78 on
Tuesday while Evans registered scores of 77-74. Junior
Patrick Cohn (St. Louis, MO) tied for 26th
position with a showing of 155 (75-80) and sophomore Shane
Miller (Irwin, PA) rounded out the team's scorers with a
162 (83-79). Junior Sean Madgett (Sammamish,
WA) competed and turned in a performance of 163 (84-79).
Matt Bova of Methodist captured medalist honors as he topped Ryan
Jennings of UT-Tyler in a playoff. The pair each finished
with a 145.

(Mar. 2) - The No. 19-ranked Emory University golf team
continues its spring season on Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 3-4) when
it takes part in the Callaway Gardens Collegiate. The 36-hole
tournament will be played on the famous Mountain Course at Callaway
Gardens Resort in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
This year's talent-filled field will be comprised of 16 teams and
approximately 85 players. Ten of the nation's top 25 teams,
including the top three clubs, will be looking to bring home the
team title including No. 1-ranked Oglethorpe College. Other
top teams taking part include No. 2 Methodist, No. 3 Huntingdon and
No. 6 Rhodes. Last season, the Eagles of Head Coach Mike Phillips
tied for seventh out of 16 teams. Emory's top returning
finisher from last year was Jeremy Evans who tied for 18th out of
87 contestants.
Emory opened it spring campaign with a fourth-place finish out of
10 teams at the Pine Needles Intercollegiate (Feb. 25-26).
The Eagles' top performer was junior Patrick Cohn who tied for the
ninth position out of 55 players with a six-over par 148
(72-76). Evans tied for 12th with a seven-over 149 (76-73).

FOURTH AT PINE NEEDLES INTERCOLLEGIATE
(Feb. 26) - The No. 19-ranked Emory University men's golf team
concluded its spring season-opening competition with a fourth-place
finish out of 10 teams at the Pine Needles Intercollegiate.
The 36-hole event was played at the 7,015-yard, par-71 Pine Needles
Lodge and Golf Club, in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The
Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club served as the venue for the 1996,
2001 and 2007 U.S. Women's Open.
Capturing first-place honors was Belmont Abbey who shot second-day
score of 291 to put at 591. Guilford College claimed
runner-up honors at 601 while Cape Fear Community College was third
with an effort of 604. Emory finished with a two-day score of
608 (301-307).
Junior Patrick Cohn was Emory's top performer with a score of
six-over par 148 (72-76), good for a tie for ninth place in the
55-player field. Junior Jeremy Evans shot the squad's best
round of the day with a 73 that left him at 149, good for a
15th-place tie. Sophomore Shane Miller turned in a 153 (78-75)
while senior Drew Harker rounded out the team's scorers at 158
(75-83). After finishing with an opening round 78, junior
Brent Josephson withdrew for medical reasons.
Emory continues its spring season next Monday and Tuesday (Mar.
3-4) when it competes at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate in Pine

Senior Drew Harker was the next Emory player on the board with a

individual leader after the first round is Will Scarborough of
Wesley College with a score of two-under 69.

(Feb. 23) - The No. 19-ranked Emory University men's golf
team opens the spring portion of its schedule on Monday and Tuesday
(Feb. 25-26) when it competes at the Pine Needles
Intercollegiate. The 36-hole event will be played at the
7,015-yard, par-71 Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club, in Southern
Pines, North Carolina. The Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club
served as the venue for the 1996, 2001 and 2007 U.S. Women's
Open.
Host Guilford College, ranked No. 7 among Division squads and Emory
headline the 11-team field. Some of the other teams competing
include Averett, Belmont Abbey, Greensboro, Hampden-Sydney, Wesley
and Wingate.
Head Coach Mike Phillips and his team took part in four
competitions during the fall with the best effort being a
fourth-place finish out of 18 teams at the O'Briant Memorial (Oct.
8-9) in Greensboro.
Individually, junior Jeremy Evans competed in all four events
posted a team-best 74.4 per-round average. Evans fired three
round of par or better and his best finish was a second-place
performance out of 86 players at the O'Briant Memorial. Other
Emory players competing in the spring opener included senior Drew
Harker, juniors Brent Josephson and Patrick Cohn
and sophomore Shane Miller.

(Oct. 23) -- The No. 15-ranked Emory University golf team
finished in a ninth-place tie out of 12 teams at the Oglethorpe
Fall Invitational. The 36-hole event was played at the
6,830-yard, par-71 Royal Lakes Golf Course in nearby Flowery
Branch.
The Eagles shot a second-round team score of 306 to finish the
tourney at 607. Guilford College used an outstanding 278 on
the final day to bring home the crown with a two-over score of
570. Oglethorpe was runner-up with an effort of 572 (285-287)
while Methodist (286-296) claimed third place. Huntingdon
(296-287-583) and LaGrange College (293-299-592) rounded out the
top five.
Emory junior Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL) led
the Eagles with a four-over 146 (69-77), that tied him for 12th
place in the 63-player field. Freshman David
Su (Newport Beach, CA) ranked second among the Eagles'
contingent with a 153 (76-77), tying him for 39th place. Rounding
out the team's scorers were senior Drew Harker

nearby Flowery Branch.
The Eagles shot an opening-round team score of 301. Holding
down the No. 1 spot is Oglethorpe at 285 while Methodist is in hot
pursuit with a mark of 286. Washington & Lee ranks third
at 290 while Guilford College (292) and LaGrange (293) round out
the top five.
The wet conditions delayed the start of competition but didn't
bother Emory junior Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL)
who led the Eagles with a two-under 69, good for second place in
the 63-player field. Freshman David Su

scoreboard after finishing with a round of 76, good for a

(Oct. 19) -- The No. 15-ranked Emory University men's golf
team closes out the fall portion of its 2007-08 schedule on Monday
and Tuesday of next week (Oct 22-23) when it competes at the
Oglethorpe Invitational. The 36-hole event will be played at
the 6,835-yard, par-71 Royal Lakes Golf Course in nearby Flowery
Branch.
This year's 12-team field includes a number of elite Division III
squads including four of the top five-ranked teams - No. 1
Methodist, No. 2 Oglethorpe, No. 3 Guilford and No. 5
Huntingdon. Methodist captured the top spot last year,
recording a five-stroke victory over Oglethorpe. Emory
finished the tourney in fifth place but claimed the top three
individuals. The graduated Rod Olivero took home medalist
honors shooting a two-under 140 while junior Jeremy Evans (Palm
Harbor, FL) finished runner-up with an even-par 142 (72-70).
Junior Brent Josephson (Hidden Hills, CA), playing as an
individual, finished third with a 143 (72-71).
In their most recent performance, the Eagles tied for fourth out of
18 teams at the O'Briant Memorial (Oct. 8-9) held in Greensboro,
NC. Evans led the Emory contingent with a two-under 140 (70-70),
good for second place overall out of 86 players.
EMORY'S JEREMY EVANS NAMED UAA
GOLFER OF THE WEEK
(Oct. 16) - Emory University junior Jeremy Evans
(Palm Harbor, FL) has been named the University Athletic
Association Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Tom
& Bettie O'Briant Memorial, played Oct. 8-9 in Greensboro, NC.
It marks the fourth time in his career that he has been selected
for the honor.
Evans helped the Eagles to a fourth-place tie out of 18 teams at
the tournament, pacing the squad and finishing second overall out
of 87 players with a two-round score of two-under 140 (70-70).
Evans trailed only medalist Nathaniel James of Washington and Lee
who posted a 135. Jeremy's performance was further noteworthy
because it tied him for third place on Emory's all-time list for
the lowest 36-hole score.
The Emory golf team will close out the fall portion of its schedule
when it competes at the Oglethorpe Invitational, Oct. 22-23, at the
Royal Lakes Golf Club in Flowery Branch.

The No. 11-ranked Emory University golf team moved up the
leader board during the final day of competition at the Tom &
Bettie O'Briant Memorial Tournament and ended the 36-hole event
tied for fourth place out of 18 teams. This year's tournament was
played at the Greensboro Country Club Carlson Farm Course
The Eagles shot a second-round score of 294 to finish with a
594. Oglethorpe took home first place with a 579 while the
UNC Chapel Hill B Team posted a runner-up finish with a mark of
586. Methodist came in third at 590. Joining Emory at
594 were Washington & Lee University, Hampden-Sydney College
and the UNC Greensboro B Team.
Junior Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL) came through
with another solid effort for the Eagles, recording his second
consecutive round of 70 to finish at two-under 140, good for second
place in the 86-player field. Claiming medalist honors was
Nathaniel James of Washington & Lee who compiled a 67 to finish
at seven-under 135.
Emory sophomore John Ross (N. Barrington, IL) was
the next Eagle to rank on the scoreboard with a nine-over 151
(74-77), good for a 32nd-place tie, while junior Sean
Madgett (Sammamish, WA) finished at 152 (76-76).
Freshman David Su (Newport Beach, CA) bounced back
nicely from his opening round of 82 to post an even-par 71 to close
out at 153. Senior Drew Harker (Barrington,
RI) shot a 158 over the two days of action.

(Oct. 8) - The No. 11-ranked Emory University golf team
stands ninth out of 18 teams after the first day of competition at
the Tom & Bettie O'Briant Memorial Tournament. This
year's 36-hole event is being played at the Greensboro Country Club
Carlson Farm Course.
The Eagles posted a team score of 300 and are just two shots out of
fifth place. Oglethorpe University and Washington & Lee
University are deadlocked for the top spot after each squad posted
a four-over par 288. Four-time defending champion Methodist
is one shot off the lead at 289 while the UNC Chapel Hill B Team
(293) stands in fourth position. There is a three-way tie for
fifth place with Wesley College, Randolph-Macon College and
Hampden-Sydney College all checking in at 298.
Junior Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL) had the hot
hand for the Eagles today, shooting a one-under 70, good for sole
possession of fourth place. Leading the 87-player field are
Nathaniel James of Washington & Lee and Ryan Holler of the UNC
B squad, both of whom finished at 68. Jake Pleczkowski of
Methodist holds down the No. 3 post at 69.
Emory sophomore John Ross (N. Barrington, IL) was
the next Eagle to rank on the scoreboard with a three-over 74, good

O'BRIANT MEMORIAL
(Oct. 5) -- The No. 11-ranked Emory University men's golf
team returns to the state of North Carolina when it competes in the
20th annual Tom and Bettie O'Briant Memorial on Oct. 8-9. The
tournament, hosted by Guilford College, will be held at the
Greensboro Country Club Farm Course in Greensboro. The
course, designed by Pete Dye, is 6,942 yards with the par being
71.
This year's field includes nationally ranked teams Methodist (No.
2), Oglethorpe (No. 3) and host Guilford (No. 4). All
totaled, 18 squads are slated to take part in the 36-hole
tournament that Methodist has captured the last four years. Last
season, Emory tied for fifth out of 17 teams.
In their most recent performance, the Eagles tied for sixth out of
18 teams at the Greensboro College Invitational (Oct. 1-2).
Emory recorded a 36-hole effort of 614 and was just one stroke shy
of tying for fifth position. Senior Drew Harker (Barrington,
RI) led Emory for the second straight tournament, tying for 23rd
place in the 88-player field with a score of 153 (76-77).
Juniors Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL) and Sean Madgett (Sammamish,
WA) were close behind at 154, placing them in a tie for 27th place.
Rounding out the team's scorers was junior Patrick Cohn (St. Louis,
MO) with a 155 (76-79).
EMORY GOLF TEAM TIED FOR SEVENTH AFTER
FIRST ROUND OF GREENSBORO INVITATIONAL
(Oct. 1) - The No. 11-ranked Emory University golf team
stands tied for seventh place out of 18 teams after the first day
of competition of the Greensboro College Invitational. This
year's 36-hole event is being played on the Champions Course at
Bryan Park Golf Course.
The Eagles posted a team score of 304 and are tied with LaGrange
College. Holding down the No. 1 spot after the opening 18
holes is No. 2-ranked Methodist with a one-under par 287.
Oglethorpe checks in at the No. 2 position at 296 while Guilford
College and Randolph Macon are deadlocked for third with a score of
298. Washington and Jefferson and Huntingdon are next in line
at 300 and are followed by Emory and LaGrange.
Junior Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL) posted Emory's best round of
the afternoon with a three-over par effort of 75. Senior Drew
Harker (Barrington, RI) and junior Patrick Cohn (St. Louis, MO)
both checked in at 76 and junior Brent Josephson (Hidden Hills, CA)
rounded out the team's scorers with a 77. Junior Sean Madgett
(Sammamish, WA) competed and finished with a 79.
Action will conclude on Tuesday.
EMORY GOLF TEAM GEARS UP FOR
GREENSBORO COLLEGE INVITATIONAL
(Sept. 27) -- The No. 11-ranked Emory University men's golf team
continues the fall portion of its schedule this coming Monday and
Tuesday (Oct. 1-2) when it competes at the Greensboro College
Invitational. The 36-hole tourney will be played at the
7,135-yards, par-72 Champions Course at the Bryan Park Golf
Course.
This year's field includes four teams that are ranked among the top
10 NCAA Division III teams in the nation including Methodist (No.
2), Oglethorpe (No. 3), Guilford (No. 4) and Huntingdon (No.
6). All totaled, 18 squads are slated to take part in the
event that has Huntingdon as the defending champion Last
year, Emory posted a sixth-place finish out of 15
teams. Jeremy Evans paced the Eagles' effort with a
second-place finish out of 81 players.
Emory opened its season, Sept 23-24, by recording a sixth-place
finish out of 13 teams at the Rhodes College Fall Invitational.
Senior Drew Harker was Emory's top performer with a two-round
effort of five-over par 149 (73-76), good for an 11th-place tie in
the 68-player field.
"We have not played Bryan Park in years and I understand that they
have re-done a number of holes and lengthened the course," Emory
Head Coach Mike Phillips said. "It is one of the top public
courses around and its length requires lots of drivers off the
tees. It is a nice venue and, with the excellent competition
taking part, it should be a good tournament."
EMORY GOLF TEAM CLOSES OUT RHODES
INVITATIONAL WITH SIXTH-PLACE FINISH
The No. 11-ranked Emory University golf team finished
sixth out of 13 teams at the Rhodes College Fall
Invitational. The 36-hole tourney was held at the
7,204-yards, par-72 Tunica (MS) National Golf Resort.
Emory posted a final-round team score of 309 to finish the event
with a 609. Huntingdon College captured first place with a
584 (293-291) while Rhodes College claimed the runner-up spot with
a 589 (298-291). Rounding out the top five were Oglethorpe
(301-296--597), Texas Lutheran (306-296--602) and McMurry
University (309-297--606).
Senior Drew Harker (Barrington, RI) led the Emory
contingent, concluding the second round with a four-over par 76 to
finish at 149, good for an 11th-place tie in the 68-player
field. Junior Sean Madgett ((Sammamish, WA)
posted his second consecutive 76 and registered a 152 for his
efforts, good for a 22nd-place tie. Junior Brent
Josephson (Hidden Hills, CA) deadlocked for 28th place
with a 153 (75-78) while junior Jeremy Evans
(76-79-155) and sophomore Raffi Simmel (76-82-158)
tied for 33rd and 37th, respectively.
Freshman Daniel Kmetz (Louisville, KY) competed as
an individual and fired a second-round 75 enabling him to post a
two-round total of 154, tying for 30th place.
Emory continues the fall portion of its schedule, Oct. 1-2, when it
competes at the Greensboro College Invitational.

FIRST ROUND OF RHODES COLLEGE INVITATIONAL

held down third place after the opening round of the Rhodes College
Fall Invitational. The 36-hole tourney is being held at the
7,155-yards, par-72 Tunica (MS) National Golf Resort.
Emory posted a team score of 300 and trailed Huntingdon (293) and
Rhodes (300). Rounding out the top five teams were Oglethorpe
(301) and Texas Lutheran (306). There are 13 teams competing
in this year's event.

out of 69 players after posting a one-over par 73. Junior
Brent Josephson (Hidden Hills, CA) held down the 11th spot after
coming up with a three-over par 75. Juniors Jeremy Evans
(Palm Harbor, FL) and Sean Madgett (Sammamish, WA), along with
sophomore Raffi Simel (Greensboro, NC) were tied for 19th after
finishing with 76.
The final round was scheduled to be completed on Monday.
EMORY GOLF TEAM OPENS FALL SEASON AT
RHODES COLLEGE INVITATIONAL
(Sept. 20) - The No. 11-ranked Emory University men's golf team
opens the fall portion of its schedule this coming Sunday and
Monday (Sept. 23-24) when it competes at the Rhodes College
Invitational. The Invitational will be played at the
7,155-yards, par-72 Tunica (MS) National Golf Resort.
This year's field includes four teams that are ranked among the top
10 NCAA Division III teams in the nation including Oglethorpe
(No.3), Huntingdon (No.6), Texas Lutheran (No. 9) and Rhodes
College (No. 10). Other teams competing will be Bethel,
Christian Brothers, Hendrix, Maryville and McMurry University.
Head Coach Mike Philips enters his 25th season in charge of the
Eagles' program and returns a number of key personnel from last
year's squad that posted a 14th-place finish at the NCAA Division
III championships. The Eagles lost just one senior, Rod
Olivero, from last year's team and Drew Harker enters the 2007-08
campaign as the lone senior on this year's squad. Junior
Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, FL), a 2007 PING All-South Region
honoree, is back in the fold and ranks as the team's top returning
scorer (75.1). He is joined by sophomores Raffi Simel (Greensboro,
NC) and John Ross (N. Barrington, IL) as other vets looking to be
key contributors in 2007-08.
The Eagles enter the Rhodes College Invitational as defending
champs after edging Oglethorpe after six playoff holes. Emory
went into last year's final round trailing the Petrels by five
shots but recovered to force the playoff. Harker (Barrington,
RI) claimed medalist honors after posting a two-round score of 146.
EMORY GOLF TEAM RANKED NO. 10 IN
GOLF WORLD'S PRESEASON POLL
(Sept. 5) - The Emory University golf team is ranked No.
10 in the nation among Division III programs in the 2007-08
Golf World/NIKE Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles,
who finished in 14th place at the 2007 NCAA Tournament, received
291 points. Holding down the No. 1 position is St. John's
(MN) with 507 points and 17 of the 21 first-place votes.
Head Coach Mike Phillips enters his 25th season at the helm of the
Eagles' program with a team that is slated to return 11
letterwinners from a year ago. Included among the returnees
is junior Jeremy Evans (Palm Harbor, Fla.) who finished No. 2 on
the team last year in stroke average (75.1) en route to All-South
Region honors.
Emory will play the first of four fall tournaments, Sept. 23-24,
when it takes part in the Rhodes College Invitational in Tunica,
Mississippi
