The No. 11-ranked Emory University golf team continues its
spring schedule this Friday through Sunday (Mar. 19-21) when it
competes in the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational. The
54-hole tourney will be held at the 6,620-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes
Course on Jekyll Island.
This year's field will be comprised of approximately 27 teams and
over 130 players. Six of the nation's top 10 and 13 of the
top 25 teams will be vying for the team title including No.
2-ranked and defending champion Huntingdon. No. 1 Methodist,
No. 3 Skidmore, No. 5 Oglethorpe, No. 6 Greensboro and No. 10
Rhodes College comprise the rest of the top 10 teams in the
field.
Emory representatives will include senior Shane Miller, freshman
Thomas Mally, and sophomores Ryan Dagerman, Tae Cho and Michael
Mullavey. Freshman David Collura will compete as an
individual.
Last year, Emory finished tied for ninth out of 27 teams and was
led by the graduated Jeremy Evans Cohn who tied for the 28th
position in the 143-player field.
