Standings
The Emory University golf team completed the second day of
action at the NCAA Division III Championships on Wednesday and
stands in a 17th-place tie out of the 23 teams that made
the 36-hole cut. This year’s 72-hole event is being
played at the Hershey Country Club in Herhsey, Penn.
The Eagles playing on the 6,837-yard, par-72 Links Course, shot its
best round of the season, registering a 295 to post a two-round
score of 622. The Eagles are tied with Franklin &
Marshall and Illinois Wesleyan. Leading the pack after 36
holes is Methodist University at 597 (307-290). Huntingdon
College stands second (599) while Guilford College holds down the
third position (600). Skidmore College (602) and Otterbein
(606) round out the top five squads.
Emory sophomore Ryan Dagerman continues to lead the Emory effort
with his one-over par 73 on Wednesday leaving him with a mark of
150, good for a 20th-place tie in the 120-player field
that will compete on Thursday and Friday. Senior Shane Miller
came through with a 73 and checks in with a 36-hole performance of
152, tied for 31st place. Freshman Thomas Mally
also contributed a 73 this afternoon to give him a 160 after two
rounds. Also competing for the Eagles are Tae Cho and David
Collura, both of whom have totaled 163.
Tain Lee of Claremont Mudd Scripps continued to maintain his
first-place standing on Wednesday, with his second consecutive 69
giving him a score of 138.
Emory will be one of the 23 teams that will be competing on
Thursday and Friday on the Links Course.
