The Emory University golf team closed out the fall portion of
its schedule on a high note today, posting a runner-up finish out
of 17 teams at the O'Briant Memorial.
The 36-hole tourney was held at the 7,002-yard, par-70 Cardinal
Country Club in Greensboro, NC.
The Eagles shot a second round score of 299, the second-lowest mark
in the field, to finish at 602. Methodist University claimed
the top spot with a score of 589. Host Guilford College held
down the third position at 604 while LaGrange College took home
fourth place (624). Berry College rounded out the top
five with an effort of 631.
Emory had a trio of players finish at 10-over par 150 which tied
for eighth place in the 90-player field. Seniors John Ross
(77-73) and Charles Raindre (72-78) and freshman Tae Cho (74-76)
all turned in solid performances in the fall finale for the
Eagles. Sophomore Ryan Dagerman finished off the team's
scorers with his 152 (80-72) tying for 15th
place.
