Emory Golf Team To Play At Oglethorpe/Royal Lakes Fall Classic

The No. 16-ranked Emory University men's golf team continues its fall schedule on Monday and Tuesday  (Oct 19-20) when it competes at the Oglethorpe / Royal Lakes Fall Classic. The 36-hole event will be played at the 6,835-yard, par-71 Royal Lakes Golf Course in nearby Flowery Branch.

This year's 16-team field includes a number of elite Division III squads including the top four, six of the top 10 and 10 of the top 25-ranked teams. Methodist heads into the Classic as the No. 1-ranked team followed by Huntingdon College, No. 3 Oglethorpe and No. 4 Guilford.  Other top-10 squads hitting the links will include No. 8 Greensboro and No. 9 Rhodes.

Oglethorpe captured the top spot out of 12 teams last year, recording a one-stroke victory over Guilford while Huntingdon finished three strokes behind.  Emory turned in a fifth-place performance.

In their most recent performance, the Eagles finished seventh at the Gordin-Myers Collegiate Classic (Oct. 5-6) held at the Duke University Golf Course.  Sophomore Ryan Dagerman led Emory with a 54-hole score of 12-over par 228, tying him for 17th place in the 66-player field.

Tee times for the Oglethorpe/Royal Lakes Fall Invitational begin at holes No. 1 & 10 at 8:05 a.m., both Monday and Tuesday.  To follow daily results, visit www.golfstat.com/results and scroll to Oct. 19th and Oct. 20th and find the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational.
