Emory Golf Finishes Seventh At Wynlakes Wynternationals

The No. 18-ranked Emory University golf team concluded the Wynlakes Wynternationals in seventh place.  The 36-hole event was played at the 6,979-yard, par 72 Wynlakes Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.  Serving as the host institution was Huntingdon College.

The Eagles posted a second-day effort of 319 to finish at 641.  No. 7-ranked Oglethorpe and No. 3 ranked Methodist each posted two-round scores of 606 with OU being awarded first place on a tie-breaker formula.  Rounding out the top five teams were Huntingdon College (616), Greensboro College (624) and Birmingham Southern (628).

Senior Ryan Dagerman came through with the squad's best score on Tuesday, carding a two-over par 74 that left him at 152, good for a ninth-place tie in the 47-player field.   Sophomore Johnathan Chen was next up on the Eagles' leader board with a 160 that tied for 27th.   Junior David Collura (163), junior Thomas Mally and senior Nick Szem (164) rounded out Emory's team scores.  Freshman Alex Wunderlich, playing as an individual, turned in a fine effort, tying for fifth place in the field with a 151 (77-74).

Emory returns to action on March 13-14 when it competes at the University Athletic Association Championships at the RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.
