The No. 18-ranked Emory University golf team returns to action on Tuesday and Wednesday (Mar. 13-14) when it competes at the University Athletic Association Championships. This year's 36-hole event will be held at the RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Florida.
Joining Emory in the Championship will be Carnegie Mellon, New York University and the University of Rochester. Emory won last year's Championships, the program's 13th UAA crown, using a strong final round in finishing two strokes ahead of runner-up Rochester. Nick Szem led the Emory effort last season with his school-record tying 66 on the final day giving him a one-under score of 143, good for second place.
Competing for Emory in this year's chase for the title will be Szem, senior Ryan Dagerman,
junior David Collura, sophomore Jonathan Chen and freshman Alex Wunderlich.
In Emory's last outing, it posted a seventh-place finish out of nine teams at the Wynlakes Wynternationals (Mar. 5-6) in Montgomery, Alabama
