The No. 18-ranked Emory University golf team holds down fourth place out of 30 teams after the second round of the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational. The 54-hole tournament is being played at the par-72, 6,700 yard Pine Lakes Course.
The Eagles posted a second-day mark of 292 and own a 36-hole score of 584. No. 3-ranked Methodist finished Saturday with a 287 and still remains in the top spot with a showing of 566. No. 7 Oglethorpe is second with a 579 after shooting a 298 while Claremont-Mudd Scripps moved into third at 582 after shooting a second-round score of 287. Coastal Georgia is fifth with a 587.
Senior Ryan Dagerman and junior David Collura pace the Emory contingent with each player showing a two-day effort of 146, good for a 10th-place tie in the 150-player field. Collura shot a one-under par 71 on Saturday while Dagerman shot a 75. Freshman Alex Wunderlich sliced six shots off his opening round and carded a one-under 71 that leaves him at 146, good for a 31st-place tie. Johnathan Chen recorded a 75 and shows a score of 152 while senior Nick Szem stands at 154 after a 79 on Saturday.
Robby Bruns of Methodist continues to lead all individuals with a 137 (65-72) 65 while Tain Lee of Claremont-Mudd Scrippss is second at 139 (68-71).
Play concludes on Sunday.
