Results

The No. 19-ranked Emory University golf team concluded play at its Spring Invitational on Tuesday with a sixth-place finish out of 17 teams.  The 36-hole event was played at the 6,860-yard, par-72 Druid Hills Golf Club.

Entering the final day of action in second place, Emory posted a team score of 303 over the final round to finish with a 598.  No. 3-ranked Methodist took home the team title with a 582 (298-284), seven strokes ahead of both Oglethorpe University and Transylvania.  Greensboro College (591) and LaGrange College (593) rounded out the top five.

Emory freshman Alex Wunderlich came through with the squad's best showing of the day with an even par 72 that gave him a tourney total of one-over par 145, good for a fifth-place tie in the 96-player field.  Wunderlich's finish enabled him to earn a spot on the Emory Spring Invitational All-Tournament Team.  Senior Ryan Dagerman totaled a 75 on Tuesday, giving him a 36-hole mark of two-over par 146, good for a seventh-place tie.  Rounding out the Eagles' contingent was sophomore Johnathan Chen (73-81—154), junior David Collura (78-79—157) and senior Nick Szem (84-77—161).

The Eagles had four players competing as individuals with junior Thomas Mally headlining that group with a 150 (74-76) that tied for 28th on the leader board.  Senior Michael Mullavey and freshman Will Roth both recorded 155s while freshman Aaron Weiner ended with a 179.

Claiming medalist honors was Hudson Keener of LaGrange College, who fired his second consecutive 68 en route to finishing with a eight-under performance of 136.  Justin Tereshko of Transylvania matched Keener's 68 on Tuesday and registered a two-day score of 138. Also breaking par at 143 was Robby Bruns of Methodist University.  By virtue of his first-place finish, Keener earns an automatic spot in the Dogwood Invitational field, June 27-30, at Druid Hills.
