Emory University freshman Alex Wunderlich (Ann Arbor, MI) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as the Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Emory Spring Invitational (Apr. 9-10).  It marks the second time in his career that he has been selected for the honor.

Wunderlich helped the No. 10-ranked Eagles to a sixth-place finish out of 17 teams at the 36-hole tourney that was contested at the 6,860-yard, par 72 Druid Hills Golf Club, tying for fifth place in the 96-player field with two-round score of one-over par 145.  After posting an opening-round 73, Wunderlich was the lone Emory performer to shoot par during the final round with his 72 representing his second-best score of the 2011-12 season.  His effort also enabled him to earn a spot on the Emory Spring Invitational All-Tournament Team.

So far this season, Wunderlich has competed in 14 rounds of action and is third on the team with a 75.5 strokes-per-round average.
