Ryan Dagerman Captures First Team All-America Honors At NCAA D-III Golf Championships

Emory University senior Ryan Dagerman closed out an outstanding career Friday afternoon on the final day of action at the NCAA Division III Golf Championships, earning First Team All-America honors after finishing in a tie for seventh place on the player leader board.  The Championships were held at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Dagerman shot a final round of three-over par 75 on the 6,926-yard, par-72 El Campeon Course to finish with a 72-hole score of six-over 294, tying the school's second-best individual performance at the NCAA Championships.

Dagerman becomes just the second player in Emory annals to have been a three-time All-American, joining Mike Lebow (2004, 2005, 2006) in that exclusive club.  Previously, Dagerman was a second-team honoree in 2010 and nailed down third-team acclaim in 2011.  He is the first Emory player to garner first-team recognition since Lebow accomplished that feat in 2006.

Dagerman closed out the 2011-12 campaign with a school-season record of 73.0 strokes per round, bettering his previous mark of 73.48 set last year.  The Dallas, Tex., native also finished off his four-year stint with the program in the No. 1 spot in career scoring average with a 74.38 strokes-per-round showing, just a shade ahead of the previous standard of 74.43 held by Jason Scherr (2001-04).

Taking home medalist honors at this year's Championships was Anthony Maccaglia of Oglethorpe University with a score of six-under 282, six shots ahead of runner-up and teammate Hayden Jones.
