Junior Johnathan Chen came through in a big way at the 2013 NCAA
Division III Golf Championships, helping the Eagles to the
program's best-ever finish.
Chen posted a 72-hole score of four-over par 289 (75-70-73-71),
good for a third-place tie with Clay Hinton of Transylvania in the
210-player field that originally started the competition.
Chen's third-place finish enabled him to capture First Team
All-America honors. In addition, his third-place finish
represented the school's second-best individual performance at the
NCAA Championships, second only to Lee Palms' first-place
performance in 1991.
Chen's effort propelled Emory to a fourth-place finish out of 41
teams that started out in the field.
