Emory Golf 12th After Two Rounds At Golfweek D-III Fall Preview

The No. 13-ranked Emory golf team resides in 12th place out of 18 teams after two round of play at the Golfweek D-III Fall Preview.  The 54-hole tourney is being held at the 6,793-yard, par-71 Raven Golf Course in Sandestin, Florida.

Emory totaled a Monday score of 303 and owns a 36-hole mark of 607. No. 2-ranked Methodist paces the field with its second-round performance of 290 giving the Monarchs total of 579, two shots ahead of St. John's (MN).  LaGrange College is in the hunt at 583 (290-293) while UT-Tyler (584) and Skidmore College (590) round out the top five.

Junior Johnathan Chen (Sugar Land, TX) continues to lead the Emory contingent with a score of 147 following his second-round effort of 74.  Chen is tied for 16th place on the individual leaderboard.  Junior Will Roth (Niwot, CO) turned in the Eagles' best scorecard of the day, firing a career-best round of one-under 70 that leaves him at 149, good for a 32nd-place tie.  Rounding out the Emory scorers are senior David Collura at 153 (76-77) and sophomore Alex Wunderlich with a 158 (76-82).  Junior Alex Berens is at 170.

Emory concludes the both the final round of the D-III Preview and the fall portion of its 2012-13 schedule on Tuesday.
