Emory Golf Posts Fourth-Place Finish at Jekyll Island Invitational

The No. 14-ranked Emory golf team closed out a strong effort at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational, finishing fourth out of 30 teams.  The 54-hole event was played at the Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.

The Eagles compiled a team score of 902 (301-301-300) and were led by junior Jonathan Chen who carded an eight-over par 224 (75-73-76), good for a 12th-place tie in the 150 player field.  Senior David Collura wound up in 25th place at 226 (75-76-75) while sophomore Alex Wunderlich tied for 26th with an effort of 227 (76-76-75).   Alec Berens rounded out the team's scorers with a performance of 230 (75-76-79).

Illinois Wesleyan took home the team title with a score of 882 (295-292-295), eight strokes ahead of runner-up Methodist University (292-301-297). Oglethorpe claimed third place with an 893 (291-303-299) while Transylvania rounded out the top five at 904 (295-301-308).

The Eagles return to action, Apr. 1-2, when they host the Emory Spring Invitational at Druid Hills Golf Club.
