Emory Golf Concludes Play At Navy Spring Invitational

The Emory men's golf team completed its participation at the 34^th annual Navy Spring Invitational on Sunday. The 36-hole event was held at the 6,611-yard, par-71 Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Maryland.

The 10^th-ranked Eagles, the lone Division III program in the 21-team field, recorded a 15^th place finish with a score of 631 (313-318). Virginia and Pennsylvania tied for the No. 1 spot at 599 with Penn claiming the trophy after winning a playoff.

Junior Alec Berens wound up the event as Emory's top performer with a two-day score of 11-over par 153 (76-77) that tied for 29^th place in the 105-player field. Sophomore Alex Wunderlich was next up on the team's score sheet with a 158 (77-81) that tied for 57^th, while senior David Collura (161) and junior Jonathan Chen (163) rounded out the team's scorers. Junior Will Roth finished at 164.

Joe Gunerman of Towson State won medalist honors using a strong second-round effort of two-under 69 to finish at 144, one stroke ahead of Evan Beck of Wake Forest and Trevor Cone of Virginia Tech.
