After helping the Emory golf team to a first-place effort at the
University Athletic Association Championships, senior Johnathan
Chen was Emory's top performer at the Jekyll Island Invitational.
The three-day tourney was held at the 6,700-yard, par 72 Pine Lakes
Course at Jekyll Island.
Chen posted a 54-hole score of six-over par 222 (70-76-76) that
placed him a tie for 20th place in the 150-player field. His
opening round of two-under 70 represented his best score of the
2013-14 season.
At the UAA Championships, Chen captured First Team All-UAA honors
with a fifth-place finish, firing a 36-hole score of one-over par
145 (72-73).
Chen ranks as the squad's No. 1 player with a 75.2 strokes average
over 19 rounds of action this season.
