The Emory golf team completed the opening round of the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational on Monday.  The 36-hole event is being at at the 6,825-yard, par-71 Royal Lakes Golf Course in Flowery Branch.

The Eagles find themselves tied with Millsaps for 11th place in the 16-team field with score of 306.  Holding down the top spot is LaGrange College at 289 while Huntingdon stands second at 290.  Averett is third at 291 while Berry (292) and Oglethorpe (296) round out the top five.

Junior Alex Wunderlich and senior Alec Berens were Emory's top player on Monday, with each player checking in with two-over par 73 that tie for 12th place in the 95-player field.  Tyler O'Daniel of Centre College sits atop the leader board after 18 holes following his three-under 68.   Senior Will Roth was the next Eagle to appear on the scoresheet with his 78 ranking 52nd in the field.

The final round will be held on Tuesday.
