Second Round In The Books For Emory Golf At Golfweek Fall Preview

The Emory golf team completed the second round of the Golfweek D-III Fall Preview on Monday. The 54-hole event is being held at at the 6,505-yard, par-71 Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida.

The Eagles find themselves in 16th place in the 18-team field with score of 600 (299-301).  Holding down the top spot is Oglethorpe which a strong second-round performance of 279 to bolt to a 10-stroke lead with a mark of 563.  LaGrange College claims the second position on the team leader board with a 573 (286-287) while Rohdes (287-295) and Methodist (294-288) are deadlocked for third at 582.  Rounding out the top five is St. John Fisher at 583.

Senior Johnathan Chen paces the Eagles' effort after two rounds with a three-over par 145 (72-73), good for a 17th-place tie in the 90-player field.  Junior Alex Wunderlich is the next Eagle to find his way on the leader board at 152 (75-77),  good for a 58th-place tie.  Seniors Will Roth and Alex Berens stand at 154 while Jonathan Gerrard is at 160.

Sitting in the No. 1 position on the leaderboard after Monday's action is Cory Howard of LaGrange at 137 (71-66) while Anthony Maccaglia of Oglethorpe is just two strokes behind (69-70).

The final round will be held on Tuesday.
