Emory Golf Closes Out Action At Golfweek D-III Preview

The Emory golf team closed out play at the Golfweek D-III Fall Preview on Tuesday. The 54-hole event was held at the 6,505-yard, par-71 Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida.

The Eagles recorded a 15^th-place finish out of 18 with a score of 899 (299-301-299). Taking home first place was Oglethorpe with a mark of 847 (284-279-284), 19 strokes ahead of runner-up LaGrange College (286-287-293—866). St. John Fisher held down the No. 3 position at 868 (292-291-285) while Guilford College was fourth with an 871. Rhodes College and Methodist tied for fifth place, with each school totaling an 872.

Emory senior Johnathan Chen put together a solid round of even-par 71 on Tuesday and finished the tourney tied for 10^th place in the 90-player field with a score of three-over par 216 (72-73-71). Senior Will Roth carded his second straight outing of 73 and concluded his participation with a performance of 227 (81-73-73) that placed him in a tie for 56^th place. Rounding out the Eagles competitors were junior Alex Wunderlich (75-77-77—229), senior Alec Berens (76-78-78—232) and sophomore Jonathan Gerrard (76-84-78—238).

The Eagles have now completed the fall portion of their schedule.
