The Emory University golf team will play the third of four fall tournaments next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 6-7) when it competes in the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational.  The 36-hole event will be played on the 6,865-yard, par-72 Royal Lakes Golf Club in nearby Flowery Branch.

A total of 15 teams, including five ranked among the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Top 25 Poll, take to the course in an attempt to bring home the trophy that will be defended by LaGrange College.  The ranked squads taking part include No. 1-ranked and host Oglethorpe, No. 9 LaGrange, No. 13 Southwestern, No. 15 Berry and No. 19 Greensboro.

In their last outing, the Eagles finished sixth out of nine teams at the Al Jones Memorial (Sept. 29-30) in Tyler, Texas. Sophomore Sam Nichamin and senior Alex Wunderlich tied as the team's top performers, with each player finishing at five-over par 147 that tied for eighth place overall in the 57-player field.
