The Emory men's golf team closed out its participation at the 2015 Wynlakes Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The 36-hole event was played on the 6,894-yard, par-72 Wynlakes Golf and Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.
The Eagles recorded a sixth-place finish out of 10 teams, posting a score of 609 (313-296). No. 7-ranked LaGrange took home the top spot with a mark of 577 (293-284) while No. 11 Guilford was second at 583 (293-290).
Emory freshman Keenan Hickton (Pittsburgh, PA) turned in a solid second-day performance, carding a two-under par 70 to finish at 149, good for a 14th-place tie in the 58-player field. Sophomore Sam Nichamin (Brookville, PA) was the next Eagle to appear on the leader board with an effort of 151 (75-76) that ranked 18th overall. Other Emory players to score over the 36 holes included junior Vince Siranni (82-71—153) and senior Alex Wunderlich (77-82--159).
Finishing as the tournament medalist was Cory Howard of LaGrange with a five-under 139 (71-68).
The Eagles resume action next Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 6-7) when they host the Emory Spring Invitational at the Barnsely Resort in Adairsville, Ga.
