The Emory golf team returns to action on Monday and Tuesday (Apr. 6-7) when it hosts
its Spring Invitational. The 36-hole tourney will be held at the 7,050-yard, par-72 Barnsley Gardens Resort in Adairsville, Ga.
Emory is one of 13 schools that will be competing in this year's event. Among the squads taking to the course will be No. 2-ranked Oglethorpe, No.3 and defending Invitational champion Methodist University (last year's Invitational was played at Druid Hills Golf Club) and LaGrange College, which holds down the No. 7 spot in the national rankings. All totaled, six of the top 25 teams will be taking part,
Emory last played at Wynlakes Intercollegiate (Mar. 30-31), recording a sixth-place showing out of 10 teams with a 36-hole score of 609. Emory freshman Keenan Hickton (Pittsburgh, PA) led the Eagle contingent, finishing with a five-over par 149 (79-70) that placed 14th out of 60 players.
