The Emory University golf team returns to action on Monday and Tuesday (Mar. 28-29) when it participates in the Wynlakes Intercollegiate. The 36-hole tourney will be held at the 6,979-yard, par-72 Wynlakes Golf and Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.
Emory is one of 12 schools competing in this year's event. Among the squads taking to the course will be No. 6-ranked and host Huntingdon College, No. 17 and defending Wynlakes champ LaGrange College and No. 19 Mary Hardin-Baylor
Emory is coming off a strong performance at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational, where it tied for fifth place out of 30 teams. The Eagles recorded a three-round score of 866, establishing a program record for a 54-hole tournament.
Freshman Stefano Butti paced the Eagles with a one-under par mark of 215 that tied for 16th out of 150 players, and that tied the fourth-best individual effort in program history for a 54-hole competition.
