The Emory University golf team closed out its participation at the NCAA Division III Championships on Wednesday.  The Eagles played their second round on the 6,632-yard, par-72 Midvale Golf Club in Rochester, New York.

Emory tied Illinois Wesleyan for 15th place out of 41 teams with each squad registering a two-round score of 43-over par 615. With the field scheduled to be cut to 15 teams after 36 holes of play, Emory and IWU took part in a one-hole playoff on the 467-yard, par-5 17th hole.  The Titans captured the final spot in the tourney, earning the right to play the final two rounds after finishing with a score of two-under par compared to Emory's mark of two-over par.

Freshman Anthony Muscato came through with Emory's best round of the day, carding a one-over par 73 that gave him a two-day score of 150, good for a 31st-place tie out of 210 entries.  After the team playoff, Muscato engaged in a four-member playoff for the final two positions available to individuals.  However, his bid to continue on fell short.

Sophomore Keenan Hickton recorded a three-over par 75 on Wednesday that left him at nine-over par 152 for the Championships, tied for 45th on the leader board.  Freshman Stefan Butti turned in a 79 en route to finishing with a 156, while freshman Noah Apter rounded out the team's Wednesday scorers with an 81 (80-81—161).  Freshman Connor Yakubov shot an 82 on Wednesday to finish at 158.

The team leader after two rounds is No. 2-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 13-over par 585, nine shots better than Washington and Lee.
