Junior Max Schwarz enjoyed a memorable opening to the 2021 Emory men's golf season the weekend of March 13-14 at the Tiger Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina.  The 36-hole tournament was played on the 6,925-yard, par-71 Forest Creek Golf Club North Course. 

Schwarz tied with Pierce Robinson of Washington and Lee for medalist honors in the 70-player field, shooting a seven-under par 137. Schwarz's score enabled him to tie Charles Raindre (2008 Gordin Collegiate) and Logan Ryan (2019 O'Briant-Jensen Memorial) for the program's top mark for a 36-hole competition.  After shooting a three-under 69 on the opening day of action, Schwarz tied his career best when he carded a 68 over the final 18 holes. All totaled, Schwarz logged a total of 10 birdies at the Invitational. 

No. 2-ranked Emory registered a fifth-place finish out of 14 teams at the Tiger Invitational.
