Freshman Alex Greven earned a spot on the
all-tournament team this past weekend at the Washington & Lee
Tournament. The 6-foot-3 Greven averaged 20.0 points in
helping the Eagles to a 1-1 record. He paced the club in
scoring in both games, recording a then season-high 19 points on
Saturday in a 66-54 triumph over Drew University before surpassing
that total with 21 points, the second-highest point total by an
Emory player this year, in a 76-65 setback to host Washington &
Lee on Sunday in the championship contest. Greven shot 55.6
percent (10-of-18) from the floor in the tournament, going
five-of-nine from the field in each contest, and knocked down 57.1
percent from three-point range (four-of-seven), including
three-of-five against Washington and Lee. Finally, he
converted 16-of-17 from the foul line, sinking all eight of his
opportunities against Drew and eight-of-nine vs. Washington and
Lee.
Through 11 games, he is second on the team in scoring (12.2 ppg)
and has scored in double figures on eight occasions.
