Emory University senior Anthony Fernandez (Miami, FL) has been selected by the University Athletic Association as Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week after helping the Eagles to a pair of victories over conference opponents. Fernandez shares the honors with Sean Wallis of Washington University. It marks the first time this season and the second time in his career that he has been selected for the honor.
The 6-foot-4 Fernandez came off the bench to average 19.0
points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in helping the Eagles
to wins against Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve

In an 80-67 win against CMU on Friday, Fernandez picked up 15
points, second high on the club, sinking seven-of-10 from the field
and one-of-two from the charity stripe. In addition, he
picked up five rebounds, tying for second high on the team, and
added one steal in 21 minutes of action. On Sunday, Fernandez
led all players with a season-high 23 points in sparking Emory to a

in the UAA. Fernandez converted eight-of-10 from the floor,
including three-of-four from three-point range, and was successful
on all four free throw opportunities. He tied for team honors
with five rebounds and added one steal in 23 minutes.
All totaled, Fernandez sank 75 percent (15-of-20) of his field goal
attempts in the two games including 60 percent (3-of-5) from beyond
the arc. Fernandez has scored in double figures in four of
his last five and in a total six games this season. In
addition, he ranks sixth among UAA cagers with a 54.0 field goal
