Senior Austin Claunch played a key role in
helping the Eagles to a pair of home UAA victories, averaging a
team-high 16.0 points, 6.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds as Emory topped
NYU and Brandeis. Claunch hit the eventual game-winning
bucket with 18 seconds left that gave Emory a 71-70 lead over NYU
and he added a pair of charity tosses with seven ticks on the
clock as the Eagles came away with a 73-70 decision. The
5-foot-9 Claunch played all 40 minutes vs. NYU and totaled a
team-high 18 points while doling out a team-leading eight
assists. Claunch logged another 40-minute outing against
Brandeis and finished with 14 points and four assists, one of which
came on Jake Davis’ game-winning three-point shot with three
seconds left that enabled Emory to posts a 65-62 decision.
Claunch has 157 assists this year, second on the school’s
seasonal ladder.
