Senior Jake Davis led the Emory men's basketball to a pair of
victories at the LaGrange College Thanksgiving Tournament.
The 6-foot-5 Davis paced the team in scoring in both contests and
closed out the weekend with a team-high 28.0 points per game
average. Davis shot 55.2 percent (16-of-29) from the floor,
87.5 percent (21-of-24) from the charity stripe and tied for second
on the club in rebounds (5.0 rpg) as the Eagles upped their overall
record to 5-2.
Davis totaled 25 points, 14 in the second half, in a 90-79 decision
over Maryville College, ending that affair by knocking down
nine-of-14 from the field and all seven of his attempts from the
foul line. He followed that with a game-high 31-point
afternoon vs. LaGrange (22nd in the second half), hitting on
seven-of-15 from the floor including three treys in six tries.
His effort against the Panthers represented his fourth
straight contest of 20 or more points (5th on the year) and second
of 30 or more points.
