Senior Jake Davis averaged a team-highs in both 20.0 (20.0
ppg) and rebounds (5.0 rpg) in Emory's NCAA Tournament games at
Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
In the Eagles' 76-73 Round of 16 overtime victory over No.
1-ranked UW-Stevens Point, Davis topped the Eagles' scoring attack
with 26 points, his 16th performance of 20 or more points this
year, while grabbing a team-high eight rebounds. Davis hit a three
pointer with 21 seconds left in regulation that knotted the score
up at 64-64, eventually forcing the extra period. In overtime, his
triple with five seconds on the clock broke a 73-73 tie and gave
the Eagles the victory. In the Round of Eight against No. 3
UW-Whitewater, Davis was the team's lone double-figure scorer with
14 points.
Davis closed out the season as the UAA's leading scorer with a
22.6 points-per-game average with that effort the top mark on the
program's seasonal ladder. Career-wise, he finished with 1,870
points, good for the No. 2 spot all-time at Emory.
