Senior McPherson Moore helped the Emory men's basketball team to a pair of victories including the squad's league opener.
The 6-foot-2 Moore averaged 17.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in
Emory's triumphs over Birmingham Southern and the University of
Rochester that boosted the team's overall record to 9-3 (1-0 UAA).
Over the two games, he was successful on 57.7 percent
(15-of-26) of his field goal opportunities.
In a 76-61 verdict over BSC, Moore was the club's second-high
scorer with 14 points, finishing the contest sinking 6-of-11 from
the floor including two-of-three from beyond the arc. He
followed that effort with a team-best 21 points and tied for team
honors in rebounding with a season-high tying five boards in a
77-54 outcome over Rochester. Moore converted nine-of-15
field goal tries against the Yellowjackets en route to registering
his fifth performance of 20 or more points this season. It
also represented the third time this year that he ranked as the
team's leading scorer.
