The Emory University men's basketball program has been recognized by the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) for its work in the class room this past academic year.

The Eagles were recipients of the Team Academic Excellence Award, created by the NABC Committee on Academics. The award, earned by more than 125 colleges and universities, recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2013-14 season.

In order to earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA Division I and II, must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes who competed during the 2013-14 season. 

Emory finished the campaign with an overall record of 19-9 that included the program's first-ever appearance in the Elite Eight of the NCAA D-III Tournament.
